Question AC System In PT 69 Camaro

Please understand I'm new to this.Im building my first car a 69 camaro. After being dicked around and wasting A ton of money on guys that didn't no **** about building a car I found a reputable builder who's been great to work with.I have an ls1 in it along with a heidts subframe
a 4 link rear all stainless exhaust c5 brakes bonspeed wheels and on and on.The body is flawless. My question is how much value does ac add to the car.The ac system cost is about $2000 for the system plus labor to install. Is it a must have.
      Thanks for any help.

I think it is worth every penny but I think a Vintage Air gen IV kit is around $1300. What are you getting for $2000?

LS1 brackets, different hoses to mount on passenger side, hose crimping, ac charging, control upgrade, trinary switch, etc....it's adds up fast. My 1969 install hit 2,500 real quick. And that was installing it myself!

Worth every penny imho. It's pretty hard to put an exact market value on it, but it will certainly make the car more attractive to a wider audience if you decide to sell it.

Doesn't necessarily "add" anything......but a buyer would likely deduct the $2K they would spend to install one from any potential purchase price.

I'll be the odd guy out here...

It was a waste of money for me.

Yanked my VA and sold it a couple years ago. No need for it. Never used it and it adds a bunch of weight. I like to drive with the windows down. Better driving experience.

I live in Phoenix and drive year round...fwiw.

there's no way in hell I'd never not have AC again. I have added to my '55, '56 and '68. Well worth every cent.

Hey I've seen your 55 before! That's honestly one of the coolest overall cars I've ever seen. Nothing is overdone, just ridiculously nice from A-Z. Drive it in good health man.
