      455HO Formula project

Hello yall. I have a 71 Formula I've been working on between deployments.

As you see the body was hurting. And yes....someone installed TTops at some point

We took it completely apart to do it right.

      TTops Gone!!!

      That is Guards Red

LS1 Fbody Brakes and the Global West suspension is installed.

Interior being done. Seats are off getting covered right now. Procar Rally's.

And the motor waiting to go to Butler performance.

It's a long project that's taking to long due to deployments, but hey. It's worth it.

Wow! Pretty impressive metal work. Looks like you started with just a pair of frame rails and replaced everything else!

Thanks Saltfuture/PontiacJim. Sometimes it feels like that's all I started with, but the guy who did the paint and metal has always done good work. I knew it come out good, but he surpassed my expectations. I let him know that all the time. While he had it he opened the wheel well with a bfh and trimmed the lip to accommodate wider wheels.

Motown454. Thank you for the support. I went down to the recruiters office a couple days after 911. Felt like I had/have to do something for Merica to pay back all the freedoms we get. You're not the only on that can't wait to see more. Talked to the lady doing my seats and she said the bottoms were about done. So that's cool. She does awesome work. Whenever I get pics of the seats I post them up.

Lucky13firebird. I lucked out with these round port heads. They're from a 71. Got the 2 piece aluminum intake for the 71 too. I maybe able to help you find a set of round port heads. If interested, shoot me a pm with the price range and casting number you're looking for and I'll contact some people.

I know it's been awhile, but I got to go home on leave back in late April. Got a few things done.

The motor is in there, but not everything. The front is still sitting high cause they are new springs, so they need to settle.

Finally got the column back. Looks great. I miss judged the horn button sticker. Whoopsie. That's an original/unrestored steering wheel. I think it gives the car some character.

I was goin to go with the Stealth design Pro Wheels, but they don't offer the size I want. Gonna go with Torque Thrust 2's.

Please don't...surely something else would look really nice. How about these?

Not sure why Andrew doesn't want you to get TT II's. Although the V 48's would probably look good also, I think TT II's can look really nice on a 70-73 bird because they go well with the rounded lines of the early 2nd gens.

Those vintage V48's do look nice, but I don't think they'd look right on the car.

Quick question about the short block....did you have your own block and send it in to get assembled and prepped by butler? Or did you just buy a short black from them and the rotating assembly? And which ever you did what did it run you? Thank you! Get looking car!

Torque thrust 2's aren't a bad look on those cars... looking forward to the progress when you get back.

I agree with Andrew. Skip the TT II's. The Year One 17" Honeycombs would look better or the VWW wheels suggested.
1973 Hurst Edition Pontiac Grand Am: 430 CI of ERL built LS7, Tremec Magnum T-56 6-speed, Global West / Speedtech Suspension, Custom rear coil-over suspension, QA1 double adjustable shocks, Wilwood 6/4 piston disc brakes, Modulare C1 19" concave wheels. Shooting for 625 HP and 20 MPG!

I vote for the US Mag Trans Am rims, or their Bandit wheels, or Year One's Honeycombs... LOL- like it's my money ;)
This link shows both of the US Mag wheels... http://transamcountry.com/community/...?topic=67983.0
