      Sad weekend

This past Friday night tragedy struck our family.
My wifes brother and his family were at a party for their church at a friends house.
During the course of the evening they were unable to locate their 2 1/2 year old boy Seth. When the search moved outside someone noticed a shadow in the bottom of the deep end of the pool. My wifes brother the dad of the little boy dove into the pool and his worst fears were realized. Seth had fallen into the pool. They performed C.P.R. until the ambulance arrived.
Once at the hospital they were able to get a pulse. However the following morning the EKG showed little brain activity and Seth died later that morning.
What makes this story even sadder if thats possible is that Seth was adopted. My wifes brother owns a horse farm.
He has 3 daughters that he loves dearly but he has always wanted a little boy to raise as a "Cowboy" on their farm.
More than ever I now realize the truth in "taking nothing for granted".
Everyday is precious. Please make sure that you show your love for those that you care about everyday.

There are no words in any language that can come hope to say the right thing for these times but I offer my sincerest condolences and sympathy in their stead.

I am so sorry for your family's deep loss. The same thing happened to a missionary family from my church. They moved back to S Africa and 2 weeks later they were doing a bible study at someones house and the boy came up missing after about 3 minutes. He was in the pool. Even though we may never understand why, GOD does and has a reason for this. HE is the only one that can comfort at times like this. Again, so sorry you have to go thru this.

BTW- Might try to influence them to see a good counselor (sp?) as soon as possible to help them try and deal with the intense feeling of guilt they will have in the coming months

      Scott,
The only thing that any of us can say at a time like this is we will remember you and your family in our prayers.
Know that we hurt with you and that God will sustain the family in this time.

      I'm sorry for your loss.

Not to be disrespectful bringing this up now, but in California it's a law that you have to have the pool fenced and gated to keep kids away from them, pools are very attractive to most kids. One thing we can all do is to watch out for unsafe things we see in order to keep our families safe.
