      Project Silverback

Ever wonder what it takes to install a Roadster Shop chassis under a first Gen Camaro. Well here you go. As promised. We will be doing a step by step on the install. The Chassis is ordered on being build so there will be a little delay in between post. This is round two at our shop for Anthony's Camaro. He first came to us 2 years ago to do a Tremic 6 speed and a LS2 swap. He has been out enjoying the car" Thrashing on it to hard apparently" . So after some seat time with the new drive train and pretty much stock suspension. Well like all of us. He has could the bug to go faster and handle better. The lower end suffered from a new corvette taking an ass whopping from the Camaro...Oh and a missed gear cause it to bounce off the big end of the tack and suffer some lower end damage. But hey. He won. So no better time to stroke the motor and add some serious adhesion to the road.
      Here is the tear down.

      Project Silverback

Hey for the record I didn't miss the shift. The stock oil pickup o-ring was the culprit. Oil starvation during heavy acceleration. ?

Either way, excited to get this unit back on the road.

We have clearly been behind the ball with these project updates. Here are some updates, we got the completed frame from Roadster Shop and it looks amazing. It has since been power coated and is in the process of being built back up with Bear brakes with Roadster Shop edition 6-piston calipers. It has also been fitted with Penske triple adjustable coil overs. The floors in the car needed some work so we cut them out and installed a nice clean pan. The trunk was also replaced but needed some modifications to allow the frame to fit correctly. The motor has been stroked and fitted with a F.A.ST. intake and is now making 680 H.P. The one off forglines are on there way, stay tuned for updates!

We pulled the car into the booth yesterday and got the floors and the trunk in epoxy. Next step is Dynamat.

His plans are to start Autocross and Road course racing. The car is going to be running Black Widow mufflers.

Check out the very fist set of Forgline ga3c wheels! Fresh from the the fellas in Dayton this morning. Dreamt up by silverbacks owner, and put into reality by the great team over at Forgline. These wheels will soon be but in production and available to everyone.

Sorry for the few and far between updates everyone has been rushing around getting this car together for the Power Tour. We got the body mounted back to the Roadster Shop frame and immediately started running the wiring for the car. With the wiring done it was on to interior. The owner decided on some recaro seats that we had striped and refinshed ( Pictures Attached). All Seats and interior done by Jarrod Firkins. Wrapped Up Interiors. Exhaust was done by our own Wade Sellers with all stainless tubing with Black Widow mufflers. With the big things out of the way it was time to fire it up! The video does not do the car justice, this car sounds wicked and is a beast. Now all that is left is to finish up some last minute things before she heads off on the Power Tour. Project Silverback will be featured in a upcoming issue of Pro-Touring Magazine!

Hey guys things are starting to wrap up here, just finishing up some small things here and there. I wanted to get some pictures up of the full interior of the car. The seats turned out awesome and the interior as a whole looks great.
