Also, you may want to download the template from KORE 3 to make sure you have the pad height for the z06 caliper. Also, your post title is C5 kit, the C6 Z06 is definitley a different piece.

Buy kore3 brackets, they are no **** really good quality and then just snag a used set of corvette calipers (around 250 bucks or so) and some c5/c6 13" rotors, buy longer studs and use a drum hub... can use either drum or disc brake spindle, just buy the right bracket.

I bought 2006 gto calipers for 75 bucks shipped (same as c6) and then bought c6 abundments/brackets for 100 bucks and a set of cheapo drilled 13" rotors for 85 shipped... and some longer studs to press in my drum hubs. This is all going on a 67 tempest btw, but works for the 72 cutlass as well... kore3 kit is 115 bucks and it is super nice. Will have a video out soon if you want.

Came out to just over 400 bucks not including pads or brake hoses... and this is using actual pbr made in australia (used gm) calipers. Shop around, a kit can be pieced together for around 500 bucks, and for the rears just use a set of 98-2002 camaro brakes. Bolts right on with a small spacer and mine cost me 220 shipped for my 12 bolt... reason for 98 camaro vs c5 corvette rear brakes is 98 camaro brakes come with a nice drum shoe parking/emergency brake... (which ive yet to hook up in my 68 firebird even after years of driving it...)

      C5 kit

Would the 98 Camaro calipers/e-brake setup work on a 66 chevelle?

Yep, you just need that spacer. You have to do some work to get the cables right (Lokar has a kit). Spacer can be found on eBay.

You can also install a rear disc set-up from a '98-'04 Chevy S10 or Blazer, (use 2WD rotors not 4WD). At 11.61" the rotor is a little bit smaller than the Camaro's 12" rotor, and the Blazer caliper has a 48mm piston vs. a 45mm piston on the Camaro caliper. The rotors are .78" thick and lighter than the 1" thick Camaro parts for lower unsprung weight. I found that the Blazer set-up was about the same weight as the stock rear drum set-up. You can buy a used set on eBay or Craigslist but all of the parts are still available new from the RockAuto website. You'll need backing plates, dust shields, a parking brake kit, caliper and caliper bracket. You'll also need a 1/4" axle spacer (which you can make or buy from S10 Warehouse) to shim the caliper mounts outward to align the rotor and caliper when it's bolted to the rear axle flanges.

here's a video of me setting up the rear ls1 camaro disc brakes on my 69 chevelle 12 bolt which is going in my 67 tempest. skip to the middle and you'll see that it's literaly just bolt on... took 25 minutes to do each side INCLUDING pressing in new longer studs in my axles. 66 chevelle has the same rear end. all 10 bolt or 12 bolt brake mounting flanges are same.

also apply's to the s10 brakes if lighter is your goal, the key thing to remember is that GM didn't change the mounting pattern for over 50 years.... so darn near any brake setup works, just a matter of what you want ;-)
