      1964 Falcon Sprint

Hey everyone. Newb here on these forums. I am a college student at San Diego State for Mechanical Engineering as well as a Automotive Tech Student. I am starting my own shop and am going to build this falcon as a show car to show what kind of work I can do. It will also be a racer.

Current set up since ive had it:

347 Stroker full roller (0 miles on build)
4 speed top loader hurst shifter
      Disc brake front and rear
      Bucket seats stock
      Auto meter gauges
Locker (came in the car already will switch to a posi or something eventually)
      Mixed matched wheels
      Not much interior
      Restored Dash
      MSD Ignition and distributer
      Lots of little stuff
      have all the original trim

Hopefully I can keep you all updated with my busy schedule! If not here keep an eye on instagram @blueghostindustries

I currently need help finding some pro touring style wheels. I don't want to tub the falcon. Im looking at some dished rears (like the gas monkey garage falcon of Aarons) and some little to no dish fronts. 17x8-17x9 rears or 18x8-18x9 rears.... and a 17x7-17x8 fronts or 18x7 or 18x8 fronts. So many wheels id like your opinions on what to go with on this car. Eventually will be running 12-13" wildwood rotors and 4 piston calipers front and back from total control products!

Here she is as she sits right now (those front wheels arnt on the car anymore, sold) (and ill be installing all the trim soon)

      Thanks!

Hey thanks Yea I got that truck as my first car at 16. 74 F250. Its at stock height but looks and feels lifted. Its fun :D

Kinda surprised no one has had any wheel suggestions. Im having a hard time finding the right offsets or finding ones that are a two piece wheel so I can have them made to spec.

I dig the truck, my brother is doing a 73 f-350 crew cab with a Cummins swapped into it. As for wheels mine is mini tubed and set to fit 17x8 in the front and 17x11 in the rear with a Currie rear-end narrowed 2" per side. Im going with
CCW Classics powder-coated graphite. I really dig the New Gen mini lites, and the HRE's, but cost is a major thing for me. Hope this was helpful.

If you havent already, I'd like to encourage you to reconsider a bit on the plans not to tub. I think a mini-tub is a great compromise to get a competitive width tire under the rear and not have to mess too much with your stock frame rails. Since you're planning to narrow your rear end, it would be a pretty good time to clear that area out a bit and you'd have the room to do it while the rear is out of it.

Bryce is a great guy; you'll find him a great resource (and busy with family and work!)

Just something to think about a bit more.

Hey thanks for the links and info. Yea I just don't have the heart at the moment to cut up the falcon cuz its painted inside and out and it never looks the same trying to paint spots.lol But when I eventually go to 4 link in the rear later on a mini tub will be on the plans cuz then I can stuff a decent tire back there and not worry about it rubbing.

Where did you find the tub stuff for your falcon? And whats the backspace on the wheels?

Also, what rear suspension is that? Id like 4 link from TCP but they don't have a falcon one yet

Thank you, Yep we are both in SoCal, we live in a small town called Ridgecrest, Its a pretty good drive to SD 3-3.5 hrs each way. the 59 would be sick with the diesel in it.
The mini tub is homemade, I used 2"x 3" rectangle tubing for the frame rail sections. The backspace on the rear are 5.75" and 5.0" on the front. As for the four link I originally bought a Ride tech unit for a mustang off ebay, but it didn't fit, but it was worth it because it gave me a great visual aid, and from there I just built my own. I think TCI has one for the falcons, hope that helps

I am really bad at posting updates. So busy and my computer is newer but slow so frustrates me.lol Ill post updated pics soon!

Currently the next steps are as follows

      1) Shorten rear end
      2) Get master cylinder set up with prop valve for disc disc set up
      3) Roll Cage 8 point (decide to keep or remove rear seat)
      4) New wiring harness for the whole car
      5) Exhaust

So that's the list. ill post pics of what ive done so far soon!

Now as I said I plan way ahead and sometimes its good others its bad... But im looking into exhaust options. What the plan is to have a X pipe coming off the headers, into dual mufflers and then 45 out infront of each wheel with oval exhaust... What I want is a round muffler. Something performance/ race oriented. The car is always going to be more of a street car but if people think it looks and sounds like a legit classic racer that's the goal so I want a aggressive set of mufflers. It will be raced at open track days and at the local drags. So anyone have any exhaust options? (whatever Aaron on fast and loud has looks great and sounds goooood)

Have you looked at Forgeline or maybe some of the vendors here for wheels?
      http://www.bforgedwheels.com/

      CCW's
There are a few that will custom make wheels for your offset.

That is a great looking car and truck. Also it will depend on the front suspension somewhat too as to the size and width of the front wheels.

I have a 64 Fairlane 2 door post that I am going to build up. I am gathering parts now before I start a thread.

That sounds like a really cool build! And thanks for the compliment. Yea ive looked into all those wheels and eventually we will go with a set from someone like forgeline but for now centerline will custom make us some wheels we like the looks. Once we go to TCP suspension is when we will get some really nice expensive wheels. Centerline does make some decent stuff though I gotta say.

Mine will be riding on 18" Drag Wheels (brand) that I had on my 2007 Mustang GT. Until I find the right setup myself. I am installing Griggs GR350 suspension since I already have it. I sourced a Coyote 5.0 for it and working on a deal for a T56 from an 03 Cobra with 26 spline input. I want a fun older car that looks good and is just not like
