      Relay Location

Hey guys, I'm laying out the wiring on my camaro and was wondering if the relays for fans, headlights, starter and AC need to be mounted close to them? I would like to mount the relays inside the car in one location instead of having them scattered throughout the car.

You can mount them inside but make sure the wire gage going to the parts is sufficient for the length of wire. Wouldn't hurt to bump up the size one gage.

      Hey Tony,
I put all of the relays for my truck and the van in Radio Shack Project Boxes. Keeps everything neat, in one place and, when painted the same color as the engine compartment, the box disappears. Wire it through the back side to hide the wires. The van box starts at post #626.

This is a pic of the relay box in my truck

Sure does beat crawling under the dash to work on this stuff.

I mounted my relays on a bracket which secures to the back of my glovebox. Flip it down all the way and you can get to every one of them.
