try and post a pic of the pcm, reason being, if it is the older gen III large pcm with either a blue/ red or blue/ green plugs, it wouldn't "say" that it was from a later model vehicle, which used a different pcm (E38 58x wheel)
looks like a earlier gen III engine, you should try and verify what size ( cast into block drivers side front, behind alt / p/s steering bracket) then if it is a 6.0L, determine if it is a LQ4 or LQ9 (Lq9 has a press fit wrist pin dished piston, weaker rods (like LS1), where the LQ9 has a floating wrist pin and a flat top, w/ stronger connecting rods)

try and see the casting number on both the block and heads (block is in back of LH cyl head, heads are three digit on top corner of heads next to valve cover rail ie # 317)

With a goal of 600hp @ crank, is verify ambitious with a 6.0L w/ cathedral port heads, without some type of FI

until you find out exactly what the engine is, it is impossible to move forward

If you haven't bought this Mustang yet, and were only looking at buying it for the engine, I would look at other options

Thanks. I will try to see if there is more info I can have him send me. Car is located in NJ about 8hrs from me. I was not just looking at the engine but more the engine/car.

If it has an iron block, then it is not an LS2.
