Left side inter fender covers are fitted and just need a few seams welded. Getting close to pulling the motor and mount the body on the rotisserie.
      Thanks

Seems a shame to cover up such beautiful tube work. Is it for rock protection?

Pat, will you seal up the cover panels after they are installed for the last time?

awesome wheels, i love the look. have you considered sending your tires to diamond back classics, they can ground a red stripe in the tires, they do an amazing job. here's a link to there website.

The plan is to find a rubber strip that I could slide over the edge of the aluminum to seal it against the inner fender well. A small 1/4" rubber U channel would work best.
      Thanks

I had seriously consider doing that to the tires early on, and probably would have if the Bullitt movie car had redline tires unfortunately it had white walls, and I just can't warm-up the thought of white walls on this car? Who knows I may change my mind?
      Thank you

No rubbing, the closes point is 2" away from the covers.
      Thank you!

I started the pluming for the brakes by making the mounts for the line locks and proportional valve to go under the master cylinder to help hide it. I need to make room in the inner fender for the front brake line and I’ll do this to keep the lines clear of the motor.
      Thanks
      Pat

I had a few people ask how I measure and bend the stainless steel tubing, so I thought I would post a little more details on the radiator overflow line. I have bent thousands of feet of S/S tubing over the years. Every 55 Fleming yacht commissioned on the east coast I have bent about 80 foot of ½” and ¼” tubing, all by measurements and drawings. I sure there are many different ways to bend S/S tubing but what I have found that works best for me is outside to outside tubing measurements. This is easy when working with 90 degree bends. In the pictures below you’ll see marks on the tubing. One is an parallel orientation line, then a line designating the outside of the tubing after the bend, and the last mark is a U or C (depending on how you look at it) this designate the direction the bend should go.

By using a 45 degree fitting in the neck of the radiator I was able to bend the tubing about 45 degree to start the line. With the first bend close to the flair its best to flare the line 1st as some flaring tools need more room then the bend will leave. You can see two marks in the 3rd picture, 1 marking the where the outside of the tubing will be and the other marking the direction of the bend.

Here I’m using a scrap piece of tubing to mark where I will make the bend, I also measure for the next bend and mark the orientation for this change indirection.

Here are the tools I used to bend and flare the S/S tubing
      Thanks
      Pat

very impressive....I just bent up my first full brake system, and it wasn't even in full SS, so I have huge respect for your work...that being said, I learned a TON and look forward to refining the process. Keep up the good work... this is by far one of my favorite threads on the board!

Thank you very much for S/S tube bending 101 class. I will be doing mine soon and will follow your instruction to a "T". Thanks again Pat.
