      Detroit Speed Master/Booster combo questions

I'm going to swap to a Kore3 C6 Z51 front/ Junkyard LS1 rear brake setup in the not so distant future. Im collecting parts right now to get this done. Im told that this setup would work best with a 9" dual diaphram booster and a 15/16" or 1" master cylinder. Detroit Speed sells these but they want $400 bucks for them and it appears to be a late 70's 9" GM dual diaphram booster with a more modern looking cast housing/plastic tank master cylinder. I'm just wondering.....

-Is there is something DSE does internally that makes this booster/master cylinder different than stuff I could buy off of RockAuto for $150-200 bucks?

Ok this looks like its a Delco style dual 9" with a 24mm {15/16"} master cylinder from Orielly's for $120 bucks. Its a 79' Malibu unit.

      Nick,

I don't know anything about the DSE units, so I can't speak to it. The Malibu unit looks good, but a couple of things I noticed. Both the booster and the MC are not painted. So you will have to detail them in order to not have a rusty mess in about a week. Also, the 15/16" bore MC may be a bit small if you go power. I don't know this for sure, but I would lean towards a 1" bore MC. Also, the rod will need to be modified to work with your GTO pedal. This isn't a big deal, but again, something to do.

The DSE units are pretty and have the right rod for your application. DSE used to use the nice aluminum S10 MCs with a plastic reservoir and screw on caps. I really liked those and I wonder why they don't use them anymore.
