Not a fan of the new gen front facia on the classic fast back. No sir. The original front end looks much more bad ass.

Looks good Brian but I gotta agree. Do something retro without a direct copy of the past.

I think if you lose the gas cap and go full custom with the taillights it would be enough. To me I'd rather hear someone say "what the hell is that?" than "oh its a 67 68 wait its a 13-14 WTH?"

I like where you are going though. Color is spot on.

I dunno, I kinda like it.

I would just make sure the nose has some retro ques to it. Maybe care over a bit of the old bumper to give it an older look to the front.

I am no Ford fan, but do like old fastback 'Stangs.

I don't particularly care for the mix. I think FORD actually did it to death already. If I had to pick an end of the car to go all the way with, it would be the rear end, and bring that all the way throughout the car. Whatever you decide, I still look forward to seeing the finished product. I'm a fan of all the builds you've done....especially the Nova. You don't have to ask why...

Brian do you have any full build threads anywhere? I would love to see how you build some of your cars step by step, your work is pretty impressive.

I think the front bumper looks too fat, a few more sharper creases and a reduced bumper would look better, IMO.
The rear looks much cleaner, and has better proportions.

I thought it was just new 'Stang with PT wheels and a hood hat. Whatever...

The front half looks like a new car, and the back half looks like an old car with newer design elements added to it. I think the incorporation of the 2010+ style wheel arches looks great. I like the rendering too, but I think that when standing in front of the car, and being able to walk around it, it will look weird in the same way that a new Camaro with a '69 Camaro nose grafted in looks weird. The profiles on the new and old mustangs are similar, but the lines and contours are different between new and old. I think the design would flow much better with a 67-68 front end that incorporates modern cues, just like the rear.

      I like it.

With so many different builds out there it is getting really difficult to build something original and I like what you are doing. But, I thought you were a Chevy guy? Please tell me you're putting an LS engine in it just so I can see people lose their minds.

I'd like to offer a name change:

      "Mus-Taken"

You can also use this modified line from the movie 'Taken' when people ask to race you.

"I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want to prove. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money I've spent it on my car. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you drive away now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will lap you.

      "Good-Luck"

Can I ask what the starting chassis is? I feel like it would be easier to mock up a 2013 front on a 68 chassis but then I have an internal conflict because of the mass modification to the shell when fastbacks are already hard to come by...

I like the concept. it'll be fun to hear people arguing about whether or not it's a new car. It's all good but the tail panel blows it. Bringing it to a modern look and leaving the old tail panel relatively stock looks like you ran out of funds near the end of the build. If nothing else make it more of a flat panel like the newer cars with some trick taillights... or something.

I'm not totally sold on this one but it's fairly clean execution and gives it a more modern look. http://mustangsdaily.com/blog/2011/0...tang-fastback/

Interesting that so many people either love it or hate it.

I am in the "love it" group. Best wishes with the build.

I love it, although I think it'd be a little better if you could keep the front of the hood/fender from sloping down as much. Need's to be raised a touch taller at the top of the front bumper/hood/fender.

      IMO, that is.

Love all the feedback and that it has people talking, to add some more fuel to the fire let's take a look at the engine going in this thing.

We are braced for the backlash.....
