Old Commercial space restoration...
I will be moving in the summer and I am considering buying an old commercial building. There is about 6000sqft of retail space on the lower level, 4 apartments above, and a 28x90 concrete warehouse in the rear (read my ultimate car shop). All combined, it is about 14,000 sqft
The problem is that the building is basically a shell, and a leaking one at that. The apartments are rough and probably haven't been lived in for 30 years. The retail space on the bottom was used as a frame shop and a custom sky shop and is fairly rough. The roof is at least in need of repair if not complete replacement.
I am not sure what else to add or what specific questions to ask, but if anyone has any experience with something like this, I would sure love some insights, opinions, things to watch for, etc…
