      Renderings

I don't really know if this is the right place to post this, but does anyone know where I could get a reasonable rendering done for my 1970 Nova SS build?

      thanks in advance Trent

what do you call reasonable? I know of at least 6 guys that do renderings that frequent the boards.

It's worth around $100.00 for me to have an accurate rendering done. Don't know if that's a realistic ballpark or insulting for someone's artistic time? Thanks

No issue with paying for someone's time and artistic ability, but a grand is not worth it for me. I'd rather put it towards the Ride tech kit I need for my car.

I do hand drawn renderings if you're interested in something of that sort. The computer generated renderings are fantastic but you pay a premium for them as well. I'm around $200-$250 for say a "front/side" view. Hand drawn and in color. I try to get quit detailed. This is just something I do on the side. Here's a couple crappy scans of recent examples below....

He does fantastic work as well as Jason @ Rushforth Designs, and pricing is reasonable as well.

I was doing them for local people for $100-$200, side /front/rear, stripe designs body mods etc. after building mostly body and painting I know what is realistic unlike the computer art guys.
I do not do it much anymore because the computer renderings are so realistic us by hand true artist can not compete.
I now do auto/motorcycle oil paintings and some airbrushing.
I do not know why people pay so much for a fake picture when you can just take a pict of you car and have some black and white copies made pick up some good marker at a art supply store and try it yourself .

      Renderings

Carsbychris.com does them and they are in the $200-300 range IIRC.

I had John McBride do my car; highly recommended, but not at the lower end of the cost spectrum.

BuddyP is working on a hand drawn rendering for Sam's four door Chevelle and from the spoiler pictures he has sent the detail is amazing!

My girlfriend does rendering, it was her main job before she got one doing 3d imaging at a biotech company. All I can say is that $100 is a deal for a true 3D rendering. It takes a long time to do one. Here is one she is working on now:

It takes a long time to get a rendering complete, and at $1000 your getting into pay range where the artist is better off working at McDonalds. There are at least 160 hours into that model, and thats just a starting point.
