      Mcleod's 70 cuda project

We are proud to be building this 70 Cuda for Paul Lee the owner of Mcleod clutches. Yes the starting car is a little rough but it is a 70 cuda. He has the first Art Morrison chassis for the Mopar E-body. It will be powered by a 500 inch blown Hemi under the stock hood. Shooting for a 1000hp just for good measure. Was going to be backed by one of Mcleods new 5-speed transmissions but they are not quite done yet. So it will start out life with a Tremec tko-600. It has big Wilwoods on all four corners and a Hydratech booster for added stopping power. It will roll on Weld racing wheels and Mickey Thompson tires. It will have a Race-Pak dash and Vintage Air on the interior. We are moving along on the project and it will debut at sema 2014.

Wow, are they still working on that? Would be nice to have another 5 speed to choose from.
Looking at that second photo I would say the ole' 'Cuda has been tweaked a wee bit.

I actually talked to Paul at the sema show about the transmissions. They have the gm version sorted out. I am supposed to get one from the first batch for a 65 el camino I am putting together. The Chrysler version is still a little ways out.

1000hp + TKO 600, then better have a transmission blanket if you ever plan to have traction. That is well beyond the rating of that transmission. "up 600 lb-ft of torque capacity"

Jamie's offering is quite a bit stouter, may still not have enough beans for that engine.

Just like all the twin turbo cars, Burn outs will be king.. Anything over 500-600 hp on the street is useless..

Well finally found time to update this thread. The artist finally gave me a better rendering of it also. Got the car on the ground. making progress on it.. Going to have a good stance. Need to finish up a few things and send it to the body shop while we wait for some more pieces.

Rolling out of the shop on its own wheels. Going over to the body shop while we wait for the engine from Arrington. Going to get all the rough body work done and primed and sealed up.

You do great work Bones. I remember that 69 Camaro with the side exit exhaust. I'll stop in and say hi one of these days.
