      Remote Master Disconnect Switch

Hey guys, is anyone using this type of disconnect switch? I was wondering if you like it or if you think a manual disconnect switch would better for a trunk mount battery?

      Thanks,

Use them all the time. If you are doing to have a disconnect I think this a better way to go vs the manual.

If you need to meet any racing regulations, then I don't know if that would work.

I have an idea to use one as an anti-theft feature, setting up with a switch hidden in plain sight.
Curious to see how reliable they are. I don't think they would be legal for racing though. I think most require a mechanical manual cut-off accessible by safety crews outside the car.

I haven't had one fail in the 8 or so years we have been installing them.

I want to install one in the console of my 67 Camaro to kill the power when the car is sitting in storage and also use it as a anti-theft device.

Install the switch in the console, I assume. Yep. We have put them in all sorts of places and in general keep them hidden .

Has anyone used one of these? I was wondering if they are reliable or if I should go with the AAW remote disconnect switch since I know AAW sells good stuff.

Be sure the disconnect can handle the amps your car will be using. 110 amps isn't a lot in todays accessory heavy cars. I would look into at least a 200 amp unit, preferably 250 if you have that kind of draw.... Electric fans, A/C, big stereo, power this, power that.. It all add up to a big demand. If the switch can't carry the load it will cause problems.

Thanks Mark for pointing that out about buying a disconnect that can handle enough amps, since I'll have Electric fans, A/C, big stereo, HID lights, etc.
