      Ridetech Muscle Bar ?

Is it worth the Money? Or overkill for a mostly street car.

a bar thats not heat treated, arms are mild steel also and is not adjustable like a dse, speedtech splined bar. $500 bucks sounds steep to me...they look cool and may give some tire clearance though.i thought your a diehard scandc guy like the rest of us a and g body guys?!! hellwig heat treated tubular bar sounds like what you need dave!i have one on the chevelle love it at only 17lbs.! mark said they were doing beta testing on an adjustable one for abodys, maybe poke him on doing a gbody one also.phil

I can't speak for A/G bodies, but us F/X body guys sure can use it with wider wheels up front.

I have the Hotchkis bar up front and I've had to replace the bushings twice, even with poly. And now with the 275's, the wheels hit the bar. I've taken it off just to avoid any problems.

It may be a bit more than a regular style sway bar, but hopefully the added clearance and better style endlinks make it worth it. I've never heard of anyone having to replace the endlinks/bushings on a ridetech bar.

How did you modify your inner and outer fenders to fit the 275s?

I looked at the camaro front bar, nicely made but the rate seems stiff (1.5"od and short arms) the end links and mounts are top quality though. Also the torque is all held by 3 flathead screws holding the arm on, I'd feel better if it was splined or even keyed/doweled.

I have used Hotchkis, Helwig and ridetechs bars and you can't loose with any of them, I don't know about heat treating facts or motion ratio numbers I do know that each bar works best with its repective parter bar, but I did have great success with a Hotchkis front and helwig rear mix, hope that helps and right now I have ridetech front and rear, whoever you choose just remember to set it up correctly (parallel to ground) many times the end link spacers have to be cut to set a correct height, often many just bolt the product on and loose some of the bars ability, keep us in the loop on what you do

The endlinks are the same as what you can get for the corvette swaybar endlinks other oem use them too.there nothing special matt, you can get them at west coast corvettes.a bit more then a regular sway bar? its a 1.5 o.d. .134 wall dom steel tube welded to steel rings and plates held in place with 3 per side 3/8-16 allen head capscrews as 68sixspeed stated.i know for a fact there not heat treated, call them they tell you.i do think you get tire clearance and it does look cool.your a fellow machinist matt you should me able to whip a bar up like that easy,i made one last yr and had some 1/2 plate flame cut and did the whole deal and chose to run the hellwig tubular bar, thats one heat treated and two was lighter and three still got the same tire clearance as the flat bar bent arms(bent them on the press at work).i had about $160 into making the bar and my wife yelled at me and said to buy the hellwig bar and come to bed!so...i bought the bar took my wife and marks advice and got a great performance handling bar,and got some that night from my wife lmfao!! it coast 60 bucks to have the two arms flame cut from a buddy across the street from our shop,i did the fab work, but yeah not worth the time spent.

Take a look at the instructions for pictures of how the Muscle Bar mounts.

Also keep in mind this sway bar was designed for use with our lower StrongArms, so installation with other control arms may require modification.

Appears to me that steering box and drag link are in way of a straight NASCAR style bar and the frame bracing is in way as well.

Curious how & where ridetech mounts their MuscleBar on the g-body.

its really not the holes in the arms that change the srate of the bar in nascar(what these bars mimic) they change out the bar itself with ones that have different rates, also those bars are slung lower and are on the pillow blocks to clear the steering box.
