      T56 Leak

So on my day off I figured I would tackle my T56 leak. It a fresh rebuild with 0 miles, I put fluid in and it is seeping out the front between the main case and the front adaptor. The adaptor is the 3" thick or so plate that carries the front bearing and goes between the main case and bell housing.

The extension housing seem also seemed damp again between the housing and main case which leads me to believe there might have been some issue with the sealant the guy used. He is normally very good so I dunno what is going on.

I have pulled the tranny which is no easy task on my 1st gen and I've got it out on the bench. The front adaptor is off and I am cleaning for reassembly. Now my questions.

Ultra gray for sealant? That is what a few people have said to use.

Can I remove the tail housing without screwing anything up? Looks like I will need to mess with the shift rod. While its not nearly as bad as the front I figure while I am here I might as well reveal that too.

Anything else I should address while I'm here?

Without further guidance I am pressing adhead with the Ultra gray... Hench the emergency section.

Yes, I like to use gear sealer from Mopar. It is also gray.

Some guys like to use the red anaerobic sealer too.

That anaerobic sealer is awesome. Never used it on a T56, but it has never leaked with my Beretta trans. That was the OEM spec in that application.
