      68 firebird project

joined the forum today but here is my project. its a 68 bird 250 ohc with a glide. motor is a 68 400 thats being stroked and keeping the glide until i can get my hands on a tko 600. keeping the 8.2 10 bolt for now also but it will swapped out with a 12 bolt as for other things i have a few parts on hand but most of my stuff is on order and waiting for the block and the heads to get back from the machine shop. cam, springs, and lifters are from lunati. the rotating assembly is a mix of eagle and speed pro. intake manifold is coming from edelbrock. the carb is a holley 770 street avenger with avenger fuel pump all fittings are russel -8. keeping it a two bolt main but with ARP main studs and the heads are getting cleaned up and the pressed studs are getting replaced by screw in bbc studs and proform rockers. dist is a proform hei but im changing the module to the msd with the rev limiter. transmission is getting beefed up with tci pro rebuild kit, torque converter, and new planetary. oil pan is the street strip milodon with windage tray and pickup. the rear is getting a yukon posi and 3.73 gears among other things. thats mostly it other than wheels those are just going to weld 15 prostars until i swap my brakes to wilwood dics. the car is being ripped apart so we can pull out the dents and get the rust off then its going to be a cheapo rustoleum paint job untill i can save for a major body shop bill.Name: 622734_10151218775182859_836341406_o.jpg

Love the car Jason and where you are going with the motor! Let me know if you need anything for the suspension. I have a contact at Wilwood as well! Keep the pictures coming!

i think im going with QA1 suspension in the front not sure about the back since i have leafs. i think i want to 4 link the back but we'll see after i get the bill from the machine shop lol. motor is going to be a naturaly asp 400 stroked to a 4.25. the pistons are 40 over but wtv not a performance gain they are however speed pro flat tops. headsd are getting a fully adjustable valve train with lunati and pro form parts. ill take the car to PSI in portland to get it dyno'd after i break it in

Man that motor sounds like a great combo..... The QA1 Pro-Coils for the front are nice and easy way to have ride height adjustability. If you are thinking of a 4 link take a look at our true bolt-on rear Torque Arm kit that does everything well...

Take a look at the tech article that Chevy High Performance ran on it:

I'm jealous! The Oregon coast has always been on my "bucket list" I am just about as far away from it as possible here in Florida, but someday! Take pics of the coast if you can!
