      62 Vette Resto Mod

A month ago we were asked to look at a car for a customer to purchase. Instead he decided to build exactly what he wanted. Within a week we came across exactly what he was after. A pile of parts with an empty canvass to finish the car to his liking.

Thought you guys would dig it. I flew out to Missouri and picked it up. We've been waiting on wheels, and other parts before we can really dig in but here is our progress so far.

this is what we brought back. It was kind of a roller (c4 wheels dont owrk on a street shop chassis) but it was good enough to get it back to california.

right away we ordered wheels from CCW-

as you can see it was just a pile of parts in boxes so we are going to mock everything up before we start body work. Most of the chassis and plumbing is done thanks to street shop.

We mocked up the hydrotech brakes and column- really we need the coffman top so we can see how much of these wheel tubs need to hack out to fit it all. The previous owner wasnt planning on running a soft top so they put a huge steel tub in place.

CCW had wheels to our door in 12 days- Cant say enough about these guys and their customer service. We are a wheel dealer for several big name companies and wheels always take 2-6 months. :toetap:

We ended up deciding on the dakota digital classic cluster and this billet specialties wheel that matches the rims.

Got the exhaust wrapped up for the most part- still building a single center out tip.

ive deleted them from photo bucket and tried to reload them three times. Every time i load them to my general album they get screwed up when i transfer them into the customers sub album for some reason.

been a while since i updated- We have been slowly priming and blocking the car- I like to let the primer sit a week in between sanding it. We shot the bottom of the car with a bed liner and sprayed the engine compartment. The customer decided to change some of the body mods so we are waiting on some headlight bezels but other than that its ready for paint.

the previous shop had made a mess of this wheel tub area and lost a lot of strength around the hinge. This put some support back and gave us a clean flange to mate the custom speaker box up against so there wouldnt be a gap or a upholstered filler panel.

Love it! Just watched a Barret Jackson thing focused on Vette's and was amazed at how much the early C's brought when done like you are.
