I won't need to call it that sir because it will be a no brainer build for me. I am fortunate to have an unlimited budget. what ever I decide to buy will be dropped off at a VERY good build shop, and be done the way I ask. All I need to do is pick it up and drive!!! Sucks to have $$,eh? lol

I think I'll just go to Bennett Jackson in January and buy a car. Will be cheaper than having one built. Think that it would be?
      Thanks.

no, not really. Buying an unknown is pretty risky. Could cost you more in the long run. Keep you eye out around your area. Hit all the local car shows and events.

      What's your budget?

Go 3.8 Turbo. LS would be awesome but popping the hood to see a LS in the engine bay is equivalent to lifting your shirt and showing your belly button, everyone has got one.

However long you think your project will take, double it and you might be halfway right.

Since you have a large budget maybe you can get out of the box and do something like a fuel injected Shafiroff all aluminum 598 low deck BBC with a turbo and a six speed paddle shifted transmission...or how about a turbo diesel? Since budget isn't really a factor then it comes down to what you're going to be doing with the car and what's going to make it different and fun.

I decided to buy a boat instead. Too many cars to choose from. Thanks for letting me voice my opinions and wish you all the best in your continuing car quests!

First of all, if you had an unlimited budget, why would you even ask about a V6? No offense to people with Regals, but most people I know with Unlimited budgets don't look for gbodies to build. Then again, most people I know with unlimited budgets have a mind of their own and build what they want, they don't troll forums.

For your budget, you could build a killer GNX type follow on. I read this thread and checked out taperformance. You could build an all aluminum twin turbo 3.8 or 4.0 for about what a high end NA lsx would cost. Imagine a custom chassis with irs and a 6sp auto like a TCI 6x. If I wasnt waist deep into two Corvettes this would certainly be worth doing.

I dont think you should give up or get impatient. As for buying a completed car, from personal experience that is a mistake. I bought a 65 Corvette coupe because it already had most of what I wanted and thought it would save money. Most of the work done was substandard and the parts used were low quality. In the end it would have been cheaper to start with a decent daily driver.

You can get a decent daily driver Grand National for $20k or less. Here is a list of what you could do:
      1. All aluminum 3.8 upgraded to 4.0 twin turbo - $12k+-
      2. Custom chassis with irs, adjustable shocks - $30k+-
      3. TCI 6x - $8k
      4. Custom interior - $10k
      5. Custom paint - $12k
      6. Custom wheels/tires - $6k

This list went a little over budget but any car will. $$$ compromises can be made. Ditching the irs will get you $8k to play with, lol. The car would be very unique and might be one of the few builds that hold or increase value. In any case good luck with finding or building the car of your dreams.
