      Help with hydroboost

I've had my hydroboost C5 up and running for a little over a month now. I've had no issues until now. I've put approximately 100 miles on this set up. So tonight I'm driving around town and it feels as if my transmission is slipping. I pull over and realize my brakes are nearly locked up. What causes this?

Most likely cause is excessive MC piston preload. Here is a link that touches base on this:

Here is another one that will help to understand the systems further:

Feel free to also call our guy Jim Petty to discuss:

OK I checked the pushrod adjustment and it is ok. The pedal hangs free and no pressure on rod. My return line is clear. The master has the right amount of fluid in it. The only thing that could be a possibility is the fluid in the pump was a little high. I drained some out and it is working properly. Another idea is it was pretty hot outside yesterday. Do these act funny if too hot. I don't have a cooler on this yet.

I stand corrected, I just seperated the master from the booster and it did require some pressure to fully mate. I measure .043".

OK I can not get this bullet spacer out so I can grind off what is necessary to get 0 preload. I've tried the compresed air technique. I've also tried supergluing a stem on to it. Seems like it is in pretty tight. Anyone have any suggestions?

      When push comes to shove...

When push comes to shove, you can drill a small hole into the spacer bullet (as it is soft aluminum) and then use a small self tapping screw to yank that puppy out Or? If it just will not cooperate, you can use a carbide burr to buzz a .040-.050 dimple into the spacer bullet. If all else fails, you could make a shim to go between the hydraulic brake assist unit and the MC out of aluminum sheet stock OR very carefully buzz the forward tip of the MC pushrod in the "mouth" of the hydraulic brake assist unit...

I tried the small hole and screw trick prior to reading this and it is not budging. I was going to drill the dimple i need but i like the burr idea better. Thanks.
