      Airbar for a 68-72 nova

Looking for comments from anyone who has converted a 68-72 nova from a leaf car to the ride tech Airbar? Thoughts, plusses and cons?

I'm not a big nova guy, but think there are some close parallels between your chassis and a first gen Camaro.

This is by no means a complete list, but to start off...
Plus side: increased clearances for larger tires, reduced axle wrap on hard launches, infinitely variable spring rate
Minuses: increased conplexity/cost, less room for exhaust.

We have done multiple Camaro / Nova set ups. There are for more Camaro conversions and more Camaros for that matter, so if you do a search you will find plenty of rave reviews from owners doing the swap

Here are the two Novas we built in-house.
This was the Good Guys give away car:

And the Nova that used to be my daily driver for a while:

Camaro and Nova are the same, so you might have better luck checking with Camaro owners.

I went from 2 link set up to the Air Bar with coil overs. And WOW. The gang at Ride Tech cant be any better to deal with.

I would put another Air Bar on a car right now.

Hey bad 94 thanks for the response. What size tires are you running and what is the height from the ground to the top of your rear fender well? Worried about lowering my car too much and I like the way it looks!

I was running a 275 and just about as low as you can go. Now i will be running a 335/30/18 on a 12" rim.(this isnt something that everyone with a nova needs to try, wasnt easy at all.)

      Harley, you won't regret it!

      NO crappy leaf springs....

      No lowering blocks.....

      Eliminate axle wrap....

      Adjustable ride height....

Adjustable dampening (if you so choose)....

      More comfortable ride....

      Better handling....

You have nothing to loose and everything to gain by doing it. We have sold dozens and dozens of these kits with lots of VERY happy customers!

The install is pretty straight forward, USA made quality parts and you can always upgrade to air if you want by changing out the coilovers for bags....its that easy

      Britt,
Thanks for the reply. I really enjoy the info from your old daily driver. I have only put 2" dse drop springs and a dse front sway bar under the car so far. I am looking to start replacing the rest and my question is should I start in the rear or the front? I like my ride height and want to stay as close to it as possible, your input is greatly appreciated!!

I have the airbar installed in my 68 Acadian (Nova). Can't say how it is for driving yet as not there yet. So far I love the way it sits though. Install was straight forward. Check out my build thread if you want to see some pics.
