BMW E30 seats in 68bird fitment question.

so Im having issues trying to figure this out someone please fetch in some knowledge and get this straight..I searched the forum but seems like the only ones here with bmw seats are chevelle oweners.

The seats came from an E30 M3 so therefore should be genuine recaros. Whats confusing me is..Do I need to buy a seat mount from wedge and take the rails off the seat and mount the seat onto the mount which should now bolt onto floorpan correct? Well taking the rails off which make the seat slide back and forth, will eliminate the rails intended purpose once installing the seat mount? Im confused! aghh someone please help me, I really dont have any machines to do metal fab for the stock rails since my apartment is small and the neighbors will B***

I think I can help field this one. The easy way if you cannot fab and they do use the same bolt spacing as genuine Recaros...

Pull stock rails off. Purchase Wedge brackets. Purchase Recaro sliders from wedge. Bolt together...

Any luck with this? My e21 Recaros are currently out of my car. I can snap pics, take measurements, etc... My concern for you would be if the E30 seats use a different bolt spacing than aftermarket Recaros. The generic sliders and wedge brackets are based on the aftermarket setup.

I used Wedge Engineering to create the brackets for a set E21 Recaro seats out of a 2002 BMW M3. They work great in my 69 Camaro. You can reach them at 562-6333-1663 or http://www.wedgeengineering.net/

      Hope this helps,

What are you mentioning a 2002 M3 for markd? Your post is a little confusing... e21 seats, which yours definitely are, albeit restitched, are from the mid 70's and not out of any M3.

Sorry, I am not a BMW seat expert! I was told they were from a 2002 M3. Anyway, that was not my point. The point of the post was to show that I used seats out of a BMW and brackets from Wedge Engineering.
