FORMULA 43 WHEELS Exclusively at Detroit Speed & Engineering!!!

      Hello Pro-Touring.com Members!

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend and have been working on your projects. Many of you by now have heard of Formula 43 wheels and that Mark Stielow's Red Devil Camaro has been using the RAD14 18" front and 19" rear wheels this year at many Pro-Touring events, including the optima Ultimate Street Car Challenge.

I'm very happy to report after a full season of abuse from Mark and a screaming 800hp LS motor, the RAD14 Formula 43 wheels have performed well above our expectations and are ready for another season!

We’ve been working hard for nearly two years developing the RAD series of wheels in 18" and 19" sizes. We currently have four designs readily available and will be introducing our latest design, the RAD5 (5-spoke) at the PRI show in Orlando on Dec. 1st.

So, what’s the deal with Formula 43? Formula 43 is a specific German "Spin-Form" method for manufacturing the barrels or rim-halves for 2 and 3-piece wheels. We've developed the latest in rim halve technology using decades of experience working with some of the largest wheel manufacturers in the world.

-Hidden hardware using our new exclusive F43 bolts designed specifically for the RAD series of wheels.

-Rotary forged center sections for a circular grain structure for maximum stiffness and long service life.

-Variable pad depths to fine tune individual wheel fitments and brake clearance needs.

-Over 500 center forgings in stock ready for machining and 1200 modular rims halves in stock for quick build times. 3-weeks plus shipping.

-Proudly made in Livonia, Michigan USA! No broker or duty fees for shipping in the US. We can also ship directly to you for International shipments.

-Finish options in powder coating, anodizing, brushed and full polished available.

Pricing starts at $845.00 per wheel for our 18" Club Sport Wheels.

Where do you purchase Formula 43 Wheels? We're proud to have aligned ourselves with Detroit Speed & Engineering for exclusively selling, distributing and using Formula 43 wheels for all Pro-Touring applications. Look for Kyle's 1970 and Stacy's 1969 Camaro to have some new RAD 18" wheels for 2012.

Detroit Speed and their expertise are a great advantage to you in building, tuning or updating your G-Machine. Many of you have or will purchase items from DSE, so ask the experts what's the best wheel fitment for your ride. This takes a lot of guess work out of this sometimes difficult process. You're also welcome, to contact Formula 43 directly with any questions on our wheels, fitment and of course order updates.

I look forward to hearing from everyone in this community!

Thanks, the RADS5 is a great looking wheel and we just sent a set to DSE for Kyle's car with our Stealth black finish. We added some new features to the design with sculpted spokes. This reduced weight by 0.8lbs and improved strenght as well. Pics to come soon.

At this time we have 18" and 19" sizes available. Looking at tire selection you have a wide range of tire sizes and styles available in 18". Plus more brake rotor and caliper clearance in 18" as well if your planning on a brake upgrade in the future.

17"s are quickly becoming obsolete. Just like 16"s.

So 17s are going away? What about people who dont have$5k to $7k for wheels and tires AND cant FIT 18 or 19 in tires and wheels are screwed huh.
Guess some of the "cool" looking wheels manufacturers are going to just die because only so many people WANT 18s or larger only so many CAN run them and would actually do so.
I cannot fit 18s on my Monza and if I did it would not have any tire. so these wheel people who only build 18s and up can stuff their designs up their back sides.
Guess all these companies are gonna MAKE us build donks huh?
Hmmm maybe time to do some more work on my own.

Lee, it is all about demand. There is very little demand for custom made 17's. I have seen it first hand. For every 50 sets of 18"+ custom 2 or 3 piece wheels I sold at Driverz, I sold 1 set of 17's. It sucks for the guys who want 17's, but if I was a wheel manufacture and investing in rim halves to keep in stock, I would start my sizing in a 18" as well.

Bummer, I like my 17's. I would have gone 16's if i could have found 200 treadware tire In my widths. I might just end up with some race tires and 15's or 16's just to keep the overall weight down. I really want a wheel tire package under 40 pounds. I am currently at just over 50 pounds. My 15x8 autodrags weigh 14 pounds.

Under 40lbs is going to be pretty tuff given that most tires in a 24-25" OD are going to run 25+lbs.

However long you think your project will take, double it and you might be halfway right.

      We just built a 13.0X19 and mounted a 345 Michelin PS2. Total tire/wheel weight was 58.5lbs.
