Track Day! Buttonwillow / NCRC Sept. 17-18

The NCRC is putting on a two-day HPDE at Buttonwillow Raceway Park on Sept. 17-18. I'm going, along with a few Corvette friends. I'm not sure if I'll go for one or both days, but the price is very appealing. $99 for each day. That's a bargain.

So, who's up for burning some gas and tires?

Oh yeah, I'm in on this one. Likely both days. From the chats I've been having we might have a good shot at putting together a nice group for this one.

      Todd?
      Gaetano?
      Chad?
      Doug?

We got 3 months to get our shiat together. Let's make it happen.

Carl - which run group will you be signing up for?

Oh I'm looking forward to this!

Here is a Buttonwillow pic because all threads are better with pictures!!

Dave, to add to your list I think Larry has been making noise about wanting to get Motiv8er out to Buttonwillow. Given he is always tinkering with his motor, hopefully this gives him enough time to have the car sorted for a track day!

EDIT: I'll also throw down the guantlet. Jon, you have plenty of notice! Get that Nova ready! Brett, time to fab a roll bar!

Sooo tempting. But as it always seems, this event has a conflict. My Oldest turns 11 on 09/18. The party is set for the 17th. I will have to see if I can just make it for Sunday. hhhmmmmmm.

Nice photo Chad. I can promise that it won't be that green there in September.

      I'll sign up for point-by.

Yeah I realized after posting I could've added 5-10-or more guys that we could hope to get out there!

Gaetano, I've done that same event at BW the same weekend in July. It's brutally hot. At least in September there's a chance the heat might break.

Aside from that NCRC is $65 cheaper.

BTW Carl, I have a pair of used 275/40 17 Toyo R888's laying around I'd let go for cheap. Tread is at about 50% and they are fairly new. You'ld have to come up with another pair but if your interested PM me.

      Gaetano,

Thanks for the offer, but I'm sticking with tires I can drive in the rain comfortably. At least six times in the last year I was driving in some pretty heavy rain.

I know that there are at least three others coming. If we can get 15-20 cars we may be able to negotiate something where we all run in the same group. Getting our own group may be tough, but it should be doable to have us all run together (if you all want to.) If anyone has connections with NCRC........

Add John Sevilla and his '67 Camaro to the list. If we get at least 20 to attend I will give Dave Mills a call and see what he could do for us.

I believe that the best way for us to negotiate with NCRC is going to require us to do one simple thing: Sign up NOW. Go to the website, pay, and commit. Just like any business, orders take precedence.

I'm paid up for both days. It's too good a deal to pass up.

I can commit to one day now. Not sure about both. I could probably be persuaded to do both, but if folks are doing one day which day? I know Nick mentioned Sunday. I'm partial to Saturday track days because I like to relax the day after but if Nick commits to Sunday I'll sign up for that day.

I'll sign up for this one. The car better be done by this time... or else! But unlike all you veterans, I'll be doing the driving school! lol I don't hink the EVOC training in the police academy would count as a track day! It would be a fun time no matter what.
Gaetano, let me know your plans about July.
