      68 Camaro- Project Trident

I have a thread with a couple updates in the welcome room https://www.pro-touring.com/showthre...Camaro-Project

I figured I would move over to the Updates.

Its been a while since I have updated on Pro-Touring so here the current status
      Purchased and mounted
Boyd Fury 18X12 Rears 17X8 Front
      335/30-255/35 Pilot Sports
Speed tech Upper and Lower Control arms
      Hotchkis Springs
      QA1 Shocks
      GM 500 Series steering box
      Waiting to install
      DSE Tubs
      DSE Sub Frame Connectors
Ordered AME Tri-4 Bar with complete 9"
      still need to order
      Full Floor
      trunk pan
      Left and right Quarters
      Tail Pan
      Fenders
Im gone a lot with training so things have been slow. The AME rear should be here soon, im replacing the floors so i figured i would practice cutting the tubs out on the old before i mess up my new panels
The car has been completely media blasted every inch they could reach.
If anyone has suggestions on which floors to use or which to avoid it would be greatly appreciated, i.e. yearone, classic industries, etc.

someday soon only a lot lower

I havent gotten a lot done lately,

I installed a DSE firewall fill plate over the weekend. I still havent ground the welds, I'm waiting until i get some better tools.

The Camaro has been put on hold for a while, as I just got shoulder surgery this morning.

No new progress on the car...

I am however able to get out of my sling when I'm sitting around or typing on the computer which makes life much easier.

Here are some better pics of the rear clip

Everything inside me wants to slam my vendor for not getting my axles and third member to me yet, but I'm not going to hopefully that person reads this and realizes he's only losing business for the future. It’s only been 7 months since I ordered maybe I'm being impatient.

      just for fun

I have noticed unless you are ordering from Summit there is a good chance parts will take a while. I am building a '69 and ran thru the same deal with several venders. All I can say is keep calling and let them know you are still waiting. I eventually got all my parts and even got a free upgrade on my shockwaves for the trouble.

I am also Navy stationed in Norfolk so if you ever need an extra hand let me know.

I hope to have it out at pungo for its first auto-x this weekend. Need to install door pannels, fab center console (not going to be done for this weekend), and swap brake pads. If your out that way stop by, ODR puts on a good event.

Its been a while since I have updated, I've been pretty busy with shoulder rehab and work.

      - repaired rearglass area
      - cut out floors
      -started repairs on toeboards
-reworked my garage, bought an aircompressor

I hope to have the floors in and suspension welded in in the next two weeks.

      Pics

I got the one piece floor in and much to my suprise the subframe bolted right up and everything went well on that end.

Yesterday I cut out the trunk pan, the more I looked at the tailpan the more I knew it needed to be replaced aswell. I saved myself about 100 spotwelds by just cutting it out as one piece. The previous owner did a pretty terrible job doing Qtr skins which left me 5 spot welds on each side of the tail pan, and a huge discusting bead weld on the bottom of the qtr I needed to cut.

I started to mock everything up in the trunk area, I still need to make some fill plates for the trunk floor. I am waiting on a new outer wheelhouses, tailpan and inner panel. I am still debating if I want to replace the Qtrs while I'm in there. I dont do it now I think I will kick myself later.

Has anyone had any issues with Qtrs from National Parts Depot? I got my floors there figured I would use them again.

      well on to the pictures

Looking good. If work ever brings you out here on the west coast shoot me a PM and we'll take my 'Cuda through some twisties up "Johnny68"s way. It's only about 30 minutes out. Really fun canyon roads.
