      Best Body Mount GM A-body

Looking for the "best" body mounts for my car, since the frame is off the body and the body is getting blasted finally.

I don't want the car squeaking and groaning while going down the road, so if that's the way traditional poly bushings still are, they're out. I've had cars with polygraphite bushings from front to back and I liked it. No noises, no problems. I don't like that they don't come with hardware, which I also need to replace.

Just wondering if there's something better out there I don't know about.

Car is 3600lbs, street driven with maybe a little fun track fooling around thrown in. Up front, SC&C uppers, tall corvette type spindles, stock lower control arms with Polygraphite bushings. Coil overs will most likley round out the front. Rear suspension will feature coil overs, some sort of aftermarket control arms, possibly a watts link and a traditional rear end.

New rubber mounts will make a big difference, plus you won't have the noise of the poly mounts.

I have used poly body mounts numerous times on A Body cars and NEVER had any squeaking issues related to the poly body mount bushings. The poly body mount bushings made the cars feel much more solid when compared to new rubber factory body mount bushings.

New rubber body mount bushings make a big difference and new poly body mount bushings make a HUGE difference when comparing the 2 types of body mount bushings.

I like and use poly body mount bushings on A Body GM cars.

Rubber is the way to go. I just did my 67 Chevelle and have had zero issues, my friend used poly and took them out and tossed them int he garbage.

I love the PST poly mounts. I got my set and it didnt have a mount for every posistion though, and I wanted that. They were happy to send me the extras though. I went from have about 8 of my factory ones rusted out and the rest about halfway descent, to having 16 new poly mounts and the frame restored to better than new. I can't even tell its the same car. I have no squeeks and I cant imagine why anyone would. Its a not moving part. I can see a suspension bushing getting dry and maybe squeeking, although none of mine ever have. But not a body bushing.
