      Crazy unrelated car question....

I know this is going to sound weird but i figured id give it a go here. I have a 09 yfz450 R four wheeler. This is supposed to be yamahas race ready machine out of the box. Anyways during cornering the front end seems to push or "understeer". Would the same tuning apply from a car to something like this 4 wheeler. If so what would be the first steps in trying to minimize this? Chris

You would need more info to figure this out. Type of tires, type of terain, etc.

I would check on the YFZ central forum for advice. For the best ride on a quad or dirtbike its always worth having the suspension tuned for your weight and riding style and I would want someone who knows bikes to help you out.

Ouch...you telling kamaroman68 to learn how to ride? J/K. I used to race quads locally and as with any solid rear axle application, you're going to push through the corners if you don't steer with the throttle. If you're setting it up for moto/supercross, go as wide as the rules will allow (50") and get your CoG as low as the terrain will allow. At static ride height with me on it, my Laeger sits about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way through it's travel. If you're running WORCS or GNCC type events, you'll want to be narrower and higher in general.

FYI, this would have been a good thread for the Outhouse forum.
