I always loved the old Batmobile!! How bada$$ would a pro-touring version of the Batmobile be?!

Check out all of the accessories available. Think the bat wheel spinners would pass tech??

$150K and you get a 350 crate and turbo350 trans??? for that kind of coin, they couldn't put a LS/4L80 setup in there?
and it's built on a '70's town car??? they couldn't even use a more modern panther/crown vic chassis?
I liked the batmobile also. when I was 8.

Really, no kidding. Plenty of cheap panther platforms around that must handle a lot better than a 70's town car. And not even an overdrive much less an EFI LS engine?

Guess some don't. I still like it. I'll take a replica cat woman to go with it, too.

      Bwhahahaha....me too!

Hey at least you could blame all of the out of the ordinary aero mods on the car by saying that you are just maintaining the batman theme.

There's a guy here in Corona CA that does them based on C4 Corvettes. They're still pretty much piles though, cool to look at but otherwise pretty much junk IMO

i actually saw one of the Mr Gadget cars up close and personal.. it was just sitting in the courtyard at Ridgedale mall down in St Louis Park, MN. back in late '02 or early '03. it looked even more stupid in person than it does in that pic- a sweet old Lincoln 4 door convertible with a fiberglass abortion that was supposed to be a jet engine poking up out of the trunk. it didn't even have a sign or anything saying that it was a movie prop from the movie that was coming out or had just come out. it was just sitting there...
it was sitting about 10 feet away from a Hummer H2 from a local dealer that had a large congregation of well-to-do looking people clamoring to get a better look. a couple of those people gave me the evil eye when i pointed out that the Hummer they were so hot and bothered over was mechanically identical to a 2500HD pickup that you might see at any construction site or farm in the country.

It's cool, just not $150,000 cool.

I've seen so many clones, heard so many claims about who really built it (or them, or whatever) and never saw one that really looked well done (quality-wise) that I'm kinda over the whole Batmobile thing.

This only sucks because as a kid I thought it was the coolest car ever. I also thought Evel Kneivel was the coolest man on the planet, and that no woman could ever be hotter than Daisy Duke.

      Another youthful memory shot down.

If someone manages to ruin Dragula for me, I might have to hurt them. A street legal dragster with a coffin for a body is still pretty much the coolest idea ever. The original survives and doesn't look horrid, and no one is selling cheap knockoffs.

I think Rob Zombie would back me up if anyone messes with the legacy of the Drag-U-La.

As for the Batmobile...it is painfully close to being officially 'ghey'. Sad. But it's been whored out way too much for way too long. Shameful, but true.
