Ben Hermance hits another home run. Same feel as the "Freedombird" keep the stock apearance but improve what GM designed. Slight flaring of the quarters, small sheetmetal flares, and some carbon used for a splitter and some rocker extensions. Plus addition for carbon hood and decklid from Anvil and albert at carbon creations. Looking forward to starting on this thing. Just waiting on the morrison stuff to show up.

I guess i should base my business plan around second gens. I'm getting to be a expert with them.

Yeah.....with all the early cars getting built, I love that it has the iconic 77/78 front.

gorgeous! I had a similar idea for a front splitter on my 79. I'm not going to be able to make mine anytime soon so I'll be anxiously waiting to see this one come together.

Rendering is perfect. I had similar ideas when I was thinking about a 77-78. Particularly with the headlights, fender vents and some kind of race inspired splitter. This car is going to look great.

Thanks for the comments guys and thanks to Chad and Doug for getting me involved. I was thrilled to be a part of doing something Non-Bandit inspired for the later 2nd gen cars.

I'm loving this trickle down effect that's going on throughout the pro-touring movement right now. We're starting to see a ton of non-A-list cars get some attention and the "new-classics" are emerging all over the place. Personally, I can't wait until it trickles into the 80's with all the uber-popular G-body cars and 3rd gen F-bodies. I've got loads of ideas for them that have been brewing for years...heh heh heh.

Nice looking design Ben. 2nd gens are really getting a lot of attention now. Great to see people pushing the limits and coming up with all kinds of ideas.

Amazing rendering, I'm glad to see another Bird getting such a treatment. I will certainly be anxiously awaiting updates.

Incredible rendering! The carbon fiber details really set it off without being overdone. I like the modern and more aggressive interpretation of the fender vents. Awesome engine - the intake is certainly a centerpiece.

Great work, I will stay tuned. . .

Is that wheel the TSW Strip? If so, I seriously considered it for my build. I ended up going for the Londrina.

Are you doing anything special to use the 5x120mm pattern, or just running it on the stock 5x4.75?

      Absolutely beautiful rendering!
Are you going to do the wided fenders too?

What headlights are you planning to use?

Yes. Only a couple of inches each way. Nothing too crazy.

Are those lights meant for the TA? Or are they going to be adapted from another?

They are Silverado lights. Seems like the best way to do it. I am using one of their 77-78 front ends but Chad will remove the double chin.

We are still weeks away from getting the rear clip. AME sent the last engineering drawing to sign off on yesterday and we aren't making any other changes. They have been very thorough in engineering this bad boy. Now I can get back to pestering Craig for some build pics!

We went with the Mac Daddy 14" Willwoods and have the wheels selected. Now to just start getting stuff in!!!

Beautiful Doug. Are you going to be flush mounting the windshield and rear window?

I'll be watching this one closely too. I'm thrilled to see the 2nd gen birds coming into their own.
