      Wheels

Here's the inspiration for the wheels. Some of you may recall seeing these wheels on some Indy cars from the early 60s. A girl I went to grade school with used to bring in 8X10 glossies of Indy cars her father took who was a pro photog. A lot of the cars wore these wheels. Bitchin'!

Here's the computer model from Evod Industries who will be makng the wheels. They will be available for sale through Anvil Auto early next year.

Oh, did you catch that episode I was on with Strope and the other sponsors of the Keith Stone (Keystone Lite) 2010 Camaro? That was kinda fun. We're finally shipping the billet side gills and SS badges that we put on that car. It took us a while to get them into production because we of how long it takes to polish and paint them. The gill trim isn't easy to machine as they get pretty thin, but they turned out nice.

      Awesome build Matt!!

All the customized tidbits will really make it stand out.

I really like the hood inserts. Are they made out of metal, fiberglass, or plastic? How were they formed?

      Subscribed!!

We modeled the hood inserts in Solidworks then rapid prototyped them via 3-D printing on a machine we have called an Alaris. It builds parts from a computer model out of photopolymer resin (plastic to non-geeks). We made them with a flange around them so we could just cut holes in the hood and glue them in from the back. then we filled and sended the seam. It doesn't really matter what the original pattern we use to makes molds from is made out of as long as it's stable enough and strong enough to withstand the molding process.

Here's some pictures of the JME front suspension which is has the coil overs mounted inboard for easier adjustablitity. They also have a more traditional layout without the cantilevered shocks.

Here's a pic of the Maier Racing rear suspension which also has cantilevered shocks.

Yeah, the bitchin' factor is high, but for testing and tuning on the track, having access to the shocks and springs without having to remove a wheel makes adjustments easier. In some cases there are packaging advantages too, blah, blah, unsprung weight, blah, blah.....but mostly it's the bitchin' factor.

Yes, we will judge the Mustang market with these 69/70 parts and figure out which parts to make for earlier Mustangs.

wasnt pure vision working on a mustang a little ago called ethos or pathos or somethin?
Ha, ha, yeah, Ethos. It was a '66 Mustang and the owner dropped the project and that is what Steve originally approached me on picking up and running with. I'm just more sweet on '69s, so the "Anvil" became Pure Vision's halo car for 2010.
