      Mopar E-body mini-tubs.

This is a thread solely dedicated to pictures of E-body, and one A thrown in, mini-tubs. I'm having Mike Redpath at Muscle Rodz do a little work on the fish while I'm at summer camp here in Iraq. Thanks Mike!

These pics, save for the awesome Project Demon, are from some friends over at Cuda-Challenger.com. Conv340 and Travis72, both have awesome projects and the channeled 'cuda of conv340 trumps Trepaniers Sick Fish he did for Joe Rogan, my $0.02.

      Here are the pics Mike.

Notice here on Project Demon, the notched frame location for the Air Bar lower bars.

Not sure of the size on PD but they are at least 330-big/3? R18.

      So nice.

Notice the round tube Conv340 uses to reinforce theAir Ride Tech upper mounts. Of course, I'm using coil-overs instead of the Shockwaves so I think this is especially a good idea for my application.

Here's one method for stiffening the lower bar area. I purchased reproduction "torque boxes". They're what the Hemi equipped cars had for frame stiffening. I think the OEM replacements will do fine, Conv340's just showing off some nice fab skill here.

      That'll ride harsh. ;)

      Someday, huh.

Keep in mind this is much more than a mini-tub here but you can see how he split and filled the OE wheel housing to make it much bigger.

Here is Travis' lower bars. Notice that they are welded to the frame rail. The Air Bar instructions call for them to be bolted in the location where the stock leaf spring front hanger is bolted. Moving the lower bar's bracket all the way to the frame rail allows for even more room.

In the stock config, the trunk floor actually overhangs into the wheel well about two inches if memory serves me. Here you can see the way Chrysler should have none it. They thought trunk space was really more important than getting fatties under it?

Here's Travis' split and fill job.

This is something that goes the extra mile. The frame rail doesn't actually go straight back. Above the axle the frame rails start to turn outboard on us. Notice in the other pics that the OEM location for the front leaf spring hangers are directly outboard of the frame rail. In the back, the shackle bolts go through the frame rail.
The frame, from right over the axle tube, deviates from straight to turning out board by a little more than the width of a leaf spring pack. Notice the notch in the frame rail behind the axle tube. This isn't always done but Travis measurements were looking tight. I plan on running the same sizes, 18X12 inside of a 335/30.

      another notch pic

and notice here, looking aft or rearward how the rail kicks out. See in the very wee background the shackle. The camera is probably directly under the front leaf hanger location. I feel with the 18x12's this notch is mandatory.

And here, the trunk hinge bracket spot welds will need to be detached and re-attached when the wheel housings come inboard.
Wish I could afford XV Motorsports billet trunk hinges. Maybe if only I had a real job.

O na final thought, below, is not Trav's 'cuda above but the Demon and it's BFG's......

THanks! The more mini-tubbed 'cuda pics the better. You're rear valance is exacly how I want mine. I really see no need for the bumperettes or bulges in the valance panel for the leaf spring shackles since I've gone to a non-leaf suspension. It looks much cleaner smoothed out.

Also, Mike is installing some frame stiffening components and floor pans.
