good luck. i have never used dynatech headers or the pipe but i did use the mild steel copy of borla they have and the car sounded awesome. was a SBC at the time. i was between those or borla on the new project.

Well since its going to take you so long to install I might be a test bed to. Looking to order the same was hoping to hear from someone who had one and what it sounded like. I'm also thinking of the 3" system because I have 3" electric cutouts I want to install with it..Hmmm

i am loving the fit/quality/sound fro mthe dynatech stepped headers on my 68 camaro.

I can get my pinky between the header and the power steering box and at least an index finger between the collector flange and the floor board (i wear xx large gloves for point of reference, my hands are not small).

Happen to receive your headers yet? I received mine tonight and I am not too crazy about the potential plug/plug wire interference caused by the tube that goes up over the back two primaries on the driver's side header for steering box clearance. Curious if you have had a chance to mock them up yet and seen any fitment/clearance issues?

Glad to hear yall recieved yours. Please advise when you get it installed. I ordered mine in April. I recieved the 3" SS exhaust system within a week. They told me my headers would be back order, but should recieve them within 3 weeks. After 3 weeks called them they said sorry NLT 20May. 20 May I called them they said was not foresure because the headers are being redone(design issue). Now They said it should be NLT 6July. Kinda sucks because after I recieved the exhaust I had my old exhaust and headers removed (which are gone now). So I'm left to wait. Sucks because I can't drive. I hope the wait is worth it. Would suck to get them and they not fit.

Where did you order them from? What design issues did they mention?

I ordered mine fron Dynatech. They said something about the plugs (I think # 3) hitting with angled plug heads. They said that was not the only small change, but I did not go into to much with them after that. Summit and other distributors still have the old headers, but they want sell them with the collectors. Dynatech you get both headder, and collector for around 399. Summit wants same price without collector, but they also have a part number for header/collector combo for the same price but not in stock. Makes no sense to me. I tried to get them to sell me the header with collector for the price of thier header/collector combo but they said no. So I'm stuck waiting.

After my last post I called them back confirmed that they said it would be June before I get my headers they said yes, and 2 days later they were at my door..I don't know not complaining. Now have to wait for my car to come out of the paint shop for the second time in 6 months. I also already ran a air/fuel gauge so I will hook that up as well (can't wait to use that). I also have some remote electric cut outs already to install. Just a matter of time...

Update. I have recieved the 3" SS exhaust, and the 1 3/4 stepped 1 7/8 ceramic coated headers all from dynatech. I just got done installing them. They fit perfect (1st header that I have tried that fit perfect). Everything bolted up really good, and it sounds great. I was worried about the 3" with the mufflers being to loud, but its not to loud. Very pleased with the outcome.

I wouldn't be so quick to say it won't be quiet. I installed a magnaflow kit on my '02 SS. The muffler was a similar straight through design. I contemplated not installing it. Not only was it still quiet, I wished it was a little louder. When it comes to exhaust, looks can be deceiving.
