      Anyone familiar with nostalgicairparts.com?

      nostalgicairparts.com

Their prices seem a good bit better than either VA or Classic Auto. I've seen full kits in the $800 range on their website. The website also says they make their own evaporators......maybe other parts too. I have looked through all their parts and everything seems at least 25% less......sometimes more so. Not to mention free shipping.....which is a chunk.

      Anyone have experience with them?

I just bought a March serpentine setup for my 73 TA and it already comes with the polished compressor so I'll be piecing a system together anyway.

I would put a Vintage Air Gen IV in anything I could make it fit in. i can make it fit your car easy.

Your only looking at $1100 or so with no compressor for OEM quality aftermarket A/C.

Hey Frank.....thanks for the reply. I will be contacting you soon about other stuff I want to do to the car. VA's Gen IV systems are very nice, but more than I can spend in that dept at the moment. $1100 is too much.

I could possibly put together one of these nostaligic air systems for $530 to $600 with heat & air....depending on which indash evaporator I use. Everything from them is a lot cheaper than VA.......and they do say their evaporators are made by them. They also do a lot of OEM A/C apparently.

They have complete systems for around $800....and free shipping. Just wondering if this is another option for us? Anybody used them or heard about them?

P.S. - I dont have any ductwork left under my dash, so I'm at square 1.

Nostalgic Air Parts is a great company to deal with. They have low prices and outstanding customer service. I used them for a few of my vehicles, never had a problem. The kits are more of a universal fit but they use the factory controls, and hide behind the dash. I can testify to this, for the price you will receive a quality product built in the USA for a lower price than the copmetitors.

Thanks jg........just the kind of personal experience I was looking for. Sounds like an option for me then.

In fact, if you look at the underdash units they have......the ones that attach to the bottom of a dash and are visible......you could REALLY put together a whole system CHEAP. I mean CHEAP.

Nice call, dhutton. I never thought about it, but all you need is a Google alert setup and a company (or paid online marketing rep) could sit there and join forums all day long giving plugs for their products. Seems like that was done here...after re-reading the post it sounds pretty scripted to me.

You guys might be right. However, if these guys had such a sharp marketing department I think they would have made posts on their own on every forum, and not waited for me to someday ask my question.

Sure, he has the 1 post, and I get where you are coming from. I also know that any company in this economy that builds their stuff in the US deserves my consideration. They already had my attention in that regard.

Just because a company is unknown does not mean they build a poor product. I was, and am still, waiting to see if anyone else posts positively or negatively about them.

I do appreciate your tone of caution there though...it is a valid point.

Actually, a customer testimonial is much more impactful than an "advertisement" from a company. Plus, they would probably have to be a paid sponsor to make such posts in forums.

Completely agree. Not saying they are a bad company or have a bad product. Just wanted to point out the coincidence of the posting, timing. I hope you get more feedback to make an informed decision.

BTW - Their screen name is jgdlude. Owner of the company (per website) is Jon De Lucia...

Now that theres funny, I don't care who you are, thats funny!

Doesn't mean they are a bad company, but it does look like they are blowin their own horn.

I personally would not want to be a aftermarket A/C company going up against Vintage Air and their long reputation. VA makes 90% of their kit including their own heater cores in San Antonio Texas. The Gen IV was adapted to the $200K Ford GT for Ford Motor Company. That is OEM quality stuff right there.

I am not saying one thing bad about this company because I know nothing about them.

What I do know is were Top 25 in sales last year and easily already in the Top 10 this year because their product is so easy to sell. I have been to Vintage Air, toured the facility, done a few days of training, and know a lot about the company. I DO NOT know their financials, but it is obvious to me apples to apples, I see no way someone could sell a comparable system for 40% less, period. I would promise they are not equal units.

If their unit is a cable unit, I have a Vintage Air cable unit I can sell for $900 minus compressor, get a little closer to you budget.

LOL........but you see Frank, thats the problem. VA has little competition. Classic Auto Air is it now that Hot Rod Air is gone. I have no issue with VA at all......I LIKE their stuff.

But I just bought that March Serpentine system that was listed in the for sale section https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=64969

That was a pretty penny. I also want to do about 1000 other things with the car, so budget is an issue. If I can save a few hundred here or there without sacrificing quality I will. Actually going to meet a guy tonight......he has a brand new Vintage Air Gen- II Super Cooler (61005-vuz-a) in the box for $350. That saves me $150 if its as he says.

Then I just need a control panel, hose kit w/drier, binary switch, and condenser. Can't really think of a reason not to try these nostalgic guys on those parts...for significantly less and free shipping.

BTW.....I'm not ignoring you guys.....I do appreciate the input.

I have personaly used the kits from Nostalgic. I met them at a car show they were set up as vendors. I know I do not have a bunch of post but I do like to read about what other people are doing, I am in a build now and looking for ideas. I spoke up on this one thread because I am familiar with this company. I have had no issues with my kit, any time I had a question the people I spoke with on the phone always had my answer, and I have super cold A/C in my car and I spent less than 850 so I am going to give these guys a recomendation if someone asked for one. I hope I have been helpful, and to be honest if you are curious? Call them, what could it hurt?

I have also emailed this discusion to their email addy on their web site so hopefully they can give you more insight into who they are.

      thanks, steve

Thanks Steve, I do appreciate your response. I picked up that vintage air condenser cause it was $150 less and brand new in the box, but I'm going to buy the rest from nostalgic.

OK, the posting just kinda smelled so curiosity got me. We know Jon Delucia is the owner of Nostalgic Air Parts from their own website. So I did a google search for jgdlude and found this in the process here............

As for Mr. Williams. He is in Malaysia. Throughout my experience I have noticed when people put: please reply, reply quick, reply expected, etc. it is a scam from out of the country. So I refused business with this gentleman. He can get on these forums and speak bad about me. It will not hurt my feelings.

Just know Jeepair.com is here for all your a/c needs, and you can always reach me at the phone number on the website.

Then someone that has the same name as you is using the same screen name you use at the Jeep forum. And on other forums.

I will say it again, doesn't mean anything but your hyping your own stuff. Does not mean the product is good or bad.

PS. I see you edited the post, I quoted it for you.

I quoted your original post before you edited it to this.

So to answer your question, nothing sir. Your company has done nothing to me. Never even knew about your company until yesterday.

The post smelled, other members pointed it out. The second post smelled bad enough for me to look into it more.

You could easliy have come and said, Hello, I am the owner and bla, bla bla,. And our stuff is the best because bal, bla.bla, and no one would have thought twice about it.

Here is the bottom line. I am not Jon Delucia, I know who they are and I do post to forums on their behalf sometimes. I just called Jon and let him know about the this forum. he a small guy with a great company. I personally know about 60 guys here in FL that have his kits and everyone is very happy with their A/C. Just because his kits are not 1000 and up does not make them a bad kit. They make every kit by hand in Tampa, I have been to the warehouse. The cool thing is if you need one part from anhy of his kits he will send it to you!! I was donig a install in a 69 camaro and need some flat ABS that matched the unit and he sent it to me 2ftx2ft sheet. I know for a fact no other A/C company out there will help you out in the middle of an install!! So think what you want but until you have actually done business with them, do not assume. I am sorry for the confusion of who is who but now you know. I am in Orlando and if anyone wants to see pics of Nostalgic installs we have done here let me know.

      Thanks, Steve
