      Going Mental

Ok, so the last time I updated my car was 2004. Well I've decided to go mental and get her up to speed. All aluminum 427 small block has been ordered. I just ordered an all aluminum front clip today. I spoke with the guys at Boze Wheels today but have not confirmed a wheel. I am going with 17x9 and 17x11 and they will be satin black including lip. Im not going to narrow the rear because I dont want to narrow my tracking width so I will be pushing rear quarters out but not to look like a flare. Im painting the car the original garnet red and will have a matte black header, hood, and cowl with matte black gran touring stripes. Since everybody around here names their cars I've decided to name her "Angel"

Holy friken guacamoli, here we go again!!!

Dang Gaetano!! I would say this classifies as mental!

What tires are you wrapping the Bozes in?

If the rear of the first gens are similar to the rears of a 3rd gen Nova, you can gain a good 3/4" easily. There was a good 1/4-3/8" of dead space between the inner and outer fenders, and then some applied pressure from a bottle jack and 2x4 did the rest. 285s fit with no rubbing on the outside.

LOL, NO SH#% !! Breaking the bank on this one. I'll be running Toyos as usual. haven't used anything else for the past 8 years. Definitely best bang for the buck. I bought R888's when they first came out and I still have alot of tread on them but when I'm due for new I'm going back to RA-1's.

First of all you cant drive in the rain with R888's.

Secondly, they dont feel as sticky as the RA-1's.

Thanks for the tip on the rears. I'll definitely try applying that enginuity.

Less than 6 months of hanging around the board and you are going for the gusto. From what I have seen, you had a great looking car before, but I am really liking the picture that you are painting for the update.

Actually, I have only been participating in the forums for 7-8 weeks. I had to have a couple of surgeries done so that left me at home from work with not much to do. Doctor has me out till May 30th.

All that free time, the BAD A$$ cars on this forum, and a toy that has been sitting on the shelf since 2006, has lit a fire that I just cant seem to put out.

Plans are to have the car together and ready for Buttonwillow June 5-6 and the Spectre 341 Challenge June 25-26 minus paint, then its back into tear down mode for paint.

LOL- You're skipping the frying pan and jumping right into the fire. Gotta love that !!

You aren't jumping blindly though! Your plan is solid and you're bound to get good advice here. That (and an all-aluminum big-inch small-block) will get you right where you need to be!

Thanks, LOL, Yeah I'm not the beat around the bush type of guy, More like dive for the roots, LOL.

Lucky for me I started the first build in 2002 and finished in 2004 so most work has already been done.

Started tear down to prep for aluminum front clip install yesterday. I pulled my drivers side fender off and found 4 years worth of marbles from the road courses on the fenderwell platform just above the fender extension
