      Can a Gen4/LSx ECM manual shift a 4L60e??

The next project on my 1995 Caprice 9C1 is a big exhaust system. The reason I am going all out is to prepare for a high perf. 383 stroker.

In between these two projects I am also looking into EFI Connection conversion's to a LS3 ECM with a 58X relucator. Since my LT1 engine(already has the crank sensor housing in the timing cover) and 4L60E transmission came out of my 1996 9C1 I think I make a good candidate for the conversion.

Some of the main benefits of the conversion is raising the RPM limit above 7000, the LS3 coil packs provide a hotter spark than the stock Optispark setup and increasing the driveability of engine with big cams???

Will this mod be a step in putting in an autostick/manumatic function like the "TAPShift" option on the Pontiac Grand Prix from 2004 to 2007 into a 4L60E??

I know this PCM has the capabilty and programming to manushift a 6L80E/6L90E transmission Where in 2006 it was mated to a LSx engine, the 5.3 liter LS4, driving a 4T65E transmission with a TAPshift option on the Pontiac Grand Prix GXP. Question is will it do the same for late model 4L60E or 4L65E??

As far as I know all transmissions that have the tap feature use a different manual valve setup in the valve body.
A typical 4Lxx trans has a manual valve and detent setup for PRN4321 and all of the tap shift models only have PRNDM.
With the traditional style the manual valve has to be moved to a lower gear to prevent an upshift so there is no way to have a tap shift without valve body modification.
