I was out there at the shootout with the Edelbrock crew and the Nova was seriously impressive. I have played with the box Novas and know how poor they work from the factory but the people at CPP have got a very well balanced piece. I hope that we get as good of write up with our Chevelle. A great write up on your car. How about a manual trans for the Nova that would make it even more fun (and trouble in one modifictaion).

A manual trans is out of the budget (for now). Although I do have my eye on that new McLeod 5 speed!

NOGO! That's awesome and congratulations! Did they let you keep the NT-05's?

Nice wheels by the way ;)

How do I find the results of the other cars that did the event as well?

I didnt get the Nittos I ran my Dunlops. The NT05s are only made in large (and wide) sizes. I run a puny 215-45-17 up front and a 245-45-17 out back. CPP was nice enough to compensate me for the fronts (which were TOASTED!).

There will be two feature cars per mag for the next 4 months showing the other cars' performance.

The rear end is a 9" and I would have pinion contact with the body (especially launching at the strip) if I go more than another inch.

The front is limited from my oil pan ground clearance, although I could change pans to a shallower one since I have my steering rack system (I have the deep sump notch one for the stock center link). A little bit of lazyness there, but the rear wont change enough to make enough of a difference for me to lower the overall stance anyhow!

In the end I could go another inch around safely but I would have to go with a 2" drop spindle up front and move the coil-over up (its set 1 inch low now) and screw my already bad camber gain.

thank you for the explanation. Im in the same boat. I cut my trunk up to clear the housing. But tire diameter(245/50/16) is limiting my front from coming down. I want to go to a 245/50/15 or a 245/45/16 to lose another inch in diameter and lower coilover setting another half inch at the same time!

      Sweet car!!

Hey, congrads--really enjoyed the article---I am glued to the remaining Super Chevys for the rest of the results.

I was really please to see CPP get some good press on their products--they seem to be a great alternative that most of us pass right by. Since I tend to root for the underdog, I really enjoyed seeing your car do so well. I was also stoked that the TCI camaro did so well---I know Mary really liked that car also--spoke with her a bit at optima shootout---It's nice to see some local companies in So Cal putting out some products that will compete in the PT market place. Congrads again on your great showing. What's the next event you plan on attending? Will you be at GG in Costa Mesa?

Thanks Doug. I might make the GG in May, but its too early to tell. I hope to get back on track with running local auto-x events with CSCC. Check out www.solo2.com. The events are free for spectators and the people are great!
