how much do you like your garage.....??

Got all the fall yard/leaf clean up finally done yesterday (76 bags of leaves)as well as a bunch of running around and get to spend the whole day today out in the garage...... putting a new 20 ga metal top on the work bench I had bent up last week, pull the race car out and put the Iroc up on the lift and give it a real good once over after the track day at Mosport last Wed.....doesn't matter what I'm doing out there I love it!.....Susi laughs when she comes out there and at the same time I have the TV on some sort of a race or Powerblock and I have the stereo on listening to my classic rock station.....works for me!.

Absolutely, if I could spend time there every single day I'd be happy. I go there to relax, to rebuild, to think clearly, to let my creative side show...it's a good thing.

      My garage = decompression chamber

Go in there, open up a beer, turn on some tunes and mess around with one of my many projects and forget about the rest of the daily problems in life.
I am not useless, I can still be used as a bad example!

a good lawn mower with a nice, sharp blade gets rid of the need for all those garbage bags full of leaves by making them into free fertilizer. it also leaves more time to sit in the garage and stare at your stuff.

too many ground up leaves will eventually screw up the chemical make up of your soil and your grass wont grow......mulched grass.....good....ground up (maple) leaves...... bad.....happened at my old house, lived there for 14 yrs.....had a company come in to see why the grass wouldn't grow worth a chit.....they took a soil sample to analyze.....came back my soil was so acidic they were surprised any grass grew at all.....said to stop grinding the leaves in and had to give the lawn lime treatments......turned things right around completely in 1 to 2yrs.....got so I didn't even use fertilizer on the lawn at all and it was just as nice as my next door neighbors who had the top of the line Weed Man package.....and was way more resistant to drought than his.....I hardly watered at all....then I moved of course.....been there.

I left my leaves on the ground, they finally blowed in my neighbors yard! LOL I spent all day working on my mini tubs and mocking up the wheels. Feels good to work in the garage, been working alot of overtime this year.

Yeah, I like to be out in the garage....even cleaning up after finishing a job is good....or kicking back with a cold one while puzzling out the next project job.

I am enjoying having a garage for the first time. I haven't bought a project yet, but I am starting to piece together a 6.0L LSX motor. I have already decided that even though I like my house a lot, at some point in time we will have to move to a place with some land so I can build a detached shop.

My garage is too small, under-equipped, drafty, too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer.

      But it is my innersanctum.

My garage is only the average 2 car garage, but it has a smooth floor, a few tools, lamps, and I can work on a car even if it is raining outside.
      It is perfect.
Now, when I win the Mega Millions, I'll have to expand to 8 bays, in & out drive thru, water and drainage, and about another 1,800-2,000 sq ft, but for now, it's great.

      Garage

I have a warehouse about 15 minutes from my house i keep my cars in. Almost every Sat and Sun. i go there just to hang out. I have a nice chair and fridge there. I sold a few cars so now i have some room to work on some of them. This winter i will pull the motor out of my Boss 302 to do a little clean up on it. I can be having a hell of a week abut after a hour there playing me my cars life it good again.

I look forward to the garage-time when I can get it in.

Im lucky, I live about 2 miles from my dad who has a 3 car garage. We work on all our cars there. My dad has 3 cars. I have another three. But two of mine stay at the apartment with me and my falcon lives in my grandmas garage (about 4 miles from my place). There is no way i would leave my falcon outside. I need a house with a 3 car garage and a clean room for engine assembly then a shop room for machine work. My mill, lathe, drill press, disc sanders, band saw and grinders would all be in that one room.

I want a setup like Vdavie. Room to work, a few bays and a lift would be awesome. I really like that Chevelle too BTW.

I've only had it for a few months, but I gotta say... I freaking love my garage!!!! I haven't had my own garage my entire adult life, and for the last 10 years I didn't even have regular access to a garage and had to rely on the generosity of friends. But now that I've got my own, it's like having a slice of heaven. It's not even that nice, but the family seems to like to hang out in it. It's a decent size so my kids can play soccer in it while I work on the car, and the really amazing thing is that my wife has actually come out and hung out with me while I was working on the car. That, by itself, makes it a pretty freaking fantastic place.

It's my second favorite room in the house. 1st is the kitchen because I enjoy cooking as much, if not more than working on the car. Can't eat the car.

The kitchen isn't as relaxing a place though. Nothing like spending a couple of hours out there after work. Especially if there is a baseball game on the radio and some cold beer in the fridge.
