Brian got in by winning a goodguys autocross, Yancy's car is Bowler Transmission's sponsorship car. Mine is representing this forum. SEMA cars are all over the board. While most are pretty, I would hate to guess how many actually run, much less have 50 or more miles on them. None of our cars are show cars, but hopefully worthy of a spot anyway, especially considering they are REAL CARS.
Sooo, the "invite" is not really an invite to the show or to the comptetion? More like an invite to come an hang with us? Correct? Just trying to figure out what is actually happening and "open".
      Thanks.

My invite is for anyone and everyone that will to come cruise across the country with us. Hopefully some with and some without invitations to SEMA and optima will join in. The cruise is different from those other two events, they just happen to be the destination. Sorry for any confusion.

Not really another Power Tour, been there done that twice.
This is just a cruise across country with friends, no sponsors or circus every night, just fun road trip that happens to end in Vegas a day or two before SEMA.

Ok, that makes a bit more sense now. From your first post, I thought it was an "invite" to SEMA and or the challenge. All while cruising across the country.
Well, sounds like a blast and all, but without the other two (at least one of) it's just another fun cruise to me.

Keep me updated if something changes! I would be more interested in doing it then, and paying out the cash to take off and spend that much time away from work, spending money!

      Thanks!

If you can borrow, steal or lie your way into SEMA, it's worth it! To me, it's one of the greatest carshows/Product Events you can go too. Second, the optima Challenge, any one can come and watch. Last year I didn't have a car, but I went to support and watch an awesome event. I believe 100 or so spectators showed up last year. So come out if you can, it's all about driving our cars w/ friends and having a great time!

So, if a person were to join in on this, I understand you won't be able to compete, but would you be able to at least get a pass into SEMA to check out the show?

if I had a SEMA spot I could justify it--heck, I could even call it research for my automotive engineering degree--but I highly doubt my car would be sema-level, even if it is finished in time....

sure would be fun, though. good on you guys for doing it.

I think this would be 1000 times better than the trailer tour oh I mean power tour. Like was said no big names telling you what to do, no circus just driving cars built to be driven. I may join if you keep this going in a couple years. mine is far from show quality. but it does run and drive.

OK, that should set the stage. Brian Finch, Yancy Johns and myself are driving our cars to SEMA this year. I can not share all the details yet, but we are driving from Tennessee, all cars will be in the SEMA show, and all will do the optima battery Challenge. There will be magazine coverage on this "Ultimate Roadtrip", maybe more than one!
We would love others to join in the trip, especially if you have the nads to actually drive your car, but we will let trailer queens in too. We will be traveling mostly on I-40 so if you would like to join in, just let us know either in this thread or pm.
This should be one fun trip, with lots of stories to tell afterwards. We all brag about our "Protouring" cars, who else will step up and prove they own one?
I'd be all for this!!!..... If my car was done :(

Who wants to help me finish my car? ;-D
