      Hookers....

Hi anyone have pictures or can speak to the hooker header conversion headers and motor plate combo for a Gen 1 Camaro?
things to consider, fitment near OE steering box, ground clearance and performance. Motor placement and AC mounting. Oil pan concerns

Specific questions. Can I run a low mount (GTO) AC with a frame notch?

What oil pan would I need?
Are their clearance issues near the steering box?
Are they too low to the ground ?

Any help appreciated what I am looking for is "KIT" designed to work together to work and perform well with a GTO LS2 drop out.

The ATS stuff is top notch but the headers are for the rich not those on a blue collar budget

I don't mean to hijack your thead, but can anyone comment 'bout the same issues with reguards to the edelbrock mounts and headers? I am trying to decide between the hookers and the edelbrocks.

Boy, based on the title this is a real let-down.

I was hoping for a Thompson-esque tale of a journey through wretched excess.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into locked a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.

I had Hooker Super Comp with my LS7 in 69 Camaro.
I had no issues and they fit well.
      BTW they are for sale.
Jet-Hot coated in/out with less than 400 miles on them.

I'm running Hookers with ATS-style plates, ES short/wide mounts, 327 frame stands, Autokraft pan, and stock-sized AGR 12:1 power steering box. The Hookers rub the steering box in two places and the pitman arm in one. I've run into one person who ran them rubbing like that, but I'd rather they not touch so I "dimpled" (read as: "dented the crap out of") mine.

The Hookers fit great with the Hooker plates, but I didn't like having the heads that close to the firewall--no room to run the wiring harness around the back on the heads.

I still to this day haven't seen anyone say for certain that any headers will work with the ATS mounts without dimpling. Seems like almost everyone who says XYZ header "fits great" doesn't bother to mention what mount plates, mounts, frame stands, and steering box they are running.

1968 Camaro Convertible - LS1, T56, Hooker longtubes, Autokraft pan & mounts, GM LS7 clutch, Borla ProXS, Moser/Strange/Wilwood 9", Covans dash, UltraLite IIs, Procar Elites, Vintage Air GEN-IV, AGR 12:1 steering, Addco swaybars, Hydratech hydroboost.

My setups is almost identical and my one primary had to be dimpled to clear with my ATS plates, but it just about touched without the dimple.

I went through all the links. Great info there. According to Carl he believes the hookers with ATS plates and a 600 series box will clear. However I dont know if that included the pitman arm.

I'm not sure what a 600 series block is but i dont believe any of the LSx blocks are going to change header location. If you're talking about the steering box im using one out of a 68 or so SS camaro, a manual one. Its the 'quick ratio' one i remember, i'm not sure what ratio that is though. It would have barely cleared the pitman arm and i have no issues with the box itself.
