X2 plus back spacing. I've seen 9.5 with a 245 or a 275. Not sure if you still have full turning radius though.

My car is lowered at least 2 inches, I have had 245's with 18 x 8 with 4 5/16 back spacing and they rub, I now run 235's and I have no problems. DSE advertises that a 275 can fit on their front end, but you have to modify your fender wells and they do not say about turning radius. Either tire you have to run buttonhead allens on the inside of the wheel well.

I run a 245/40-18 up front on an 8" wide wheel (4.875" b/s) and my car is pretty low.
Not the biggest front tire by any stretch but no fitment issues either.

I'll be running 275 / 40 x 17 on mine this summer. I will lose some turning radius and modified the inner wheel house.

Like I'm sure others have said, the proven fit is the 18x8 with a 245 up front. Some cars have had a small problem with the rear of that tire rubbing the frame at full lock, and some haven't, its been an intermittent problem, but very rare.
