Can you paint an Amp cover ???

Can you paint an amp cover or shell? I have a really good amp,its older but kicks butt. I'm going to do the whole custom trunk thing with the amp displayed but unlike todays electronics it's very ugly light powder blue and I would like to spruce it up. If so I would emagine some type of heat paint because they get pretty warm.

You can paint them, with standard automotive paints. You do need to disassemble them however.
