Help: ball and socket flange ?

I'v looked and i can't find a stainless steel ball and socket flange Reducer kit, but i have found some universal 3 bolt flanges with Reducers in stainless. if i where to just use the universal 3 bolt flanges and have tubing expanded for the reducer to couple and bolt to my current headers would that work? I guess what im getting at is, Is there any different between the flange O.D or I.D sizes etc?

There doesn't look like there's a different but maybe someone else might know i don't have any to compare off hand . . .

Reason being im going stainless from the headers back

Any muffler shop can make the cone end to fit your ball end headers. I have had them done on various stock setups. Usually I reuse the existing two or three bolt flange from the original, but even that would be easy to make from a piece of stainless. The typical three bolt header flange you show in your examples are to flat with no pronounced cone shape to seal against, so they won't work.

Picture in post 6 looks correct, and again any muffler shop can copy. The typical stainless flanges of the type in the first picture in post 1 are the ones I meant were too flat and would not seal against a ball and socket header.

You might give Stainless Works a call. I'd imagine they can do it if you can't find anyone local.

      How big is the collector?

These guys might be willing to do custom if it's a 3 1/2".........

Stainless ball flanges are going to be pretty difficult to come by. You can weld mild steel to stainless pretty easily which is what I did with a Pypes x-pipe to a Summit street-rod build it yourself kit. I'm guessing you want to be able to polish the whole exhaust including the ball sockets though.........
