Eastwood makes a great looking Gold wheel paint. I have a few cans to use on my wheel centers (eventually) and some underhood stuff. properly applied it is supposed to be pretty durable. It is a true classic BBS gold.

FYI, I called Eastwood, correct they no longer stock the Vintage Gold paint, however it was a rebrand. The company that makes the product is Chem-Pak, it is their "Vintage Racing Wheel - Gold" The Eastwood Tech said if you can find a local Chem-Pak dealer the color should still be available. The other option would be to spray some out and then take it to PPG or SW and have it custom mixed. It is such a perfect gold color it is too bad Eastwood decided to stop carrying it.

I did some more on the wiring last night, mainly cleaning up, rerouting and overly time consuming stuff. I did get the gauges set back in and the lights tested. I may move the lower 3 gauges up in place of the radio and shift the radio down to the console. Opinions?

If you can get the lower gauges in-line with the uppers it will look cleaner, plus easier to see at a glance. I like the idea of moving the radio down or hiding it all together.

I bought a set of 18x10's for the front to drive whether I flare the fenders or not, now to pick a decent tire to fit. I'm not sure how 255/40's would look on a 10" wheel. I also have the hood rough cut and scoop placed. I'm going to bond it on top of the hood but use allen head screws that match my Aerocatch hood pins.

255's with have a slight stretch depending on the brand, some may look square. A 275 would be the bees knees if you could get it to fit without rubbing. Was the scoop required for clearance or just for looks? Plan to paint it back to match the aero latches?

255's on a 10" wheel up front and I finally cut out my lower grill surround to fit around the intercooler. I'll be doing the same with the trim pieces eventually.

I've been working on the body work. I got the cowl shaved, fixing the poor fiting hood scoop, 1 piece MTF upper nose, shaved off the brake ducts in the Shelby valance and I also cut off the fabricated spoiler and went back to stock but am molding in the end caps. I just couldn't get the spoiler to body work out like I wanted so off with its head!

I didn't get as much done over the holiday as I had planned. I took on some side work from a body shop, made some serious home repairs (water heater died, toilet died, stove replacement), built cabinet doors for my work bench and to top it off I was sick the whole time with a cold. None the less I still tried to get as much done on the car as possible. I got the passenger door correctly fitted and body worked, the quarter panel end caps blended in (along with some rust repair), added 1/4" rod to the bumper to fill in the cap and body worked it, trunk lid shaved and fitted properly as well as filling in the caps to be uniform, and then I started working on the driver's door as it fit as badly as the passenger door did. I'll need to come back and do some welding and grinding on the door seam before body working any.

I have set a goal to be plowing over cones in front of everyone at the fall Good Guys Texas nationals in September. Not exactly pressing for time but should give me a push to have it running and ironed out a little more by then.



No serious updates, I dropped the transmission and swapped out torque converters for a Neil Chance 3000 stall, filter/gasket, started wiring up my Quick Shift 2 trans controller and doing some general wiring tiding up. I also rerouted all of my lines and cables out of the trans tunnel. Its fun integrating 4 non original systems into a classic mustang and still retain all of the original operating systems appearance. I ditched the fender mount starter relay and am taking advantage of the one on the starter so that cleaned up a number of wires running back and forth. I also picked up a set of 80lb injectors (from 47's) so I could have shoes to grow into. Finally got my Lokar gas pedal installed, just need a bracket at the throttle body.
