      335 tire options

Seems very limited, what other popular tire is out there in a 335/30/18 size? It doesn't make sense to me why only the tire rack sells the rivals.

What happened to the kdw tires?

KDWs were discontinued shortly after the Rival debut. Old technology replaced by new.

335-18s really only exist in the Rival S and PS2 for 200tw or better. There are 315s available from Falken.

If you bump the rears to 19s your choices of wider rubber opens up considerably. 305/30-19 along with 325s and 345s are available in 200tw from Bridgestone (Re11 and the soon to be released 305 RE71R) and Michelin Super Sports.

If you want to run at the front of the pack RivalS or RE71r are your choices. If you just want to run, the Pilot Super Sports are my go to tire for just about everything.

I really haven't thought about putting 19" on the rear. I wonder how that would look on a sec gen

I have a 325/30R19 and like the look. Good 200 TW track tires are not available at this time, RE-11 is the best I can do. I'm about to buy some smaller inner rims and reduce from a 12" to 11" so I can target the 285-305 range. There are much more competitive tires available in that range. Plus is squares off with the front 275/18's better

I see above mention of RE71R in 305 or 325, that would be awesome for me. I keep trying to contact Bridgestone about it but they never have any info and the engineer who used to help me no longer responds, frustrating but not unexpected

Kyle's blue camaro has 18's but I know they have built 2nd Gens with 19's. The green TA they built a while back is one example. Only issue I had is they are tight even with mini tubs due to the height and body roll on my car, hopefully a rear swayer will help

If it has a BFG sticker on it, it is guaranteed that there are 18s on the back with 335s.

      The 305 RE71r is due out in july/august 2016.

Too bad Envious is on craptastic nittos......the best tires are the free tires.

I like 18/19 stagger, it just looks better to my eye.

19's look decent on 2nd gens in the back IMO.

There have always been limited sizes in 335/30/18 since virtually no OE car comes with that size. Now the Vipers & vettes have 19's, 20's etc.

Rival S in the 18 is the way to go, BFG has been busy this winter building a good inventory of Rival S tires to mitigate the inventory issues of the past.

I do have some 335/18 and 315/18 regular Rivals if you wanted something that does not wear as fast as the Rival S, as well as some KDW 335/30/18 and KDW 295/35/18 sticker tires

Michelin no longer makes a 335/30-18 tire in the PS2. Discontinued a month or so ago!

Pirelli or BFG is your only choice in a 200 treadwear tire in 335/30-18" until the new PS3 from Michelin comes out in a month or so.

Having trouble finding BFG Rivals...335/30 and 275,295 or 305/35 all in 18's.
Local BFG dealer has never heard of them, Tire Rack says Rival are being redone and very limited Rival S available.
Do not want to buy leftover/discontinued size that can not be replaced.
Other option is Nitto's NT01 autocross tire.
Anybody have real info and prices to ship to CT.

      Thanks,

Rivals are not sold through "conventional" BFG distributors. Only Tire Rack- initially I had hear BFG would be making them available through other race specialty places, but that never seemed to happen. Probably lawyers said, "no selling race tires for street cars".

Old post, but wanted to chime in and say not true. A quick Google search will show other places sell them. I got mine from Phils tire service.

There are places that advertise them, my question was are they still being made in the regular Rival style. The Rival S has less options and even those are hard to find.
Do not want to deal with limited production tire.

Not an old post at all. Certain select shops that have more of a connection than merely being in the racing tire business may be able to get them, after Tire Rack has their fill. For instance Phil's may have been able to provide a buy in order for a local spec-tire class, or otherwise provide BFG with major exposure or sales.
I work in the tire industry, so I know what I am speaking of. I can see what you do.

So does that mean you can get/find out what the deal is with production and availability with either Rival option??
They seemed to be hugely popular, why change/stop/delay production?

No... it means BFG operates a side business doing race tires (they consider the Rival to be a race tire), that doesn't use the same corporate structure as the mainstream products.
Probably (95% sure) not built in the same plants, either.

Goodyear do the same thing with their race tire line.
Michelin have offerings not shown to their main dealers.

Pirelli do the same thing with their rally line of tires.
