I had to do some reading on scrub radius after seeing this. I only ever ran stuff close to stock so never encountered this issue. learn something new everyday...

Hi Andrew, did you get it figured out? From the look of the tread of those tires, when you turn the wheel they are going to make noise and vibrate. Run your hands on the tread I am sure they feel rough. New tires and a the good alignment you have now might solve it. I sell tires all the time and would not put a tread pattern on almost any car that looks like that.

      Tom,

It is definitely the scrub radius and there is no easy (cheap) fix. I am just going to drive the car and enjoy it...LOL

It's been a long month and a half. I got married on May 20th, moved to Tuscaloosa Alabama, remodeled our new home with new bamboo flooring, paint and appliances, and just this week drove the GTO and the Cougar down. Good times! Big thanks to my HS buddy Rory for coming to T-Town and helping with the remodel. Also big thanks to my buddy Shaun for volunteering to spend several days of his vacation helping me drive the cars down and hanging out. He scored a pretty decent 1995 Miata in Nashville and drove it home to Janesville, WI without any issues.

Here we are at the Waffle House just south of Indy....

Our trip from Oshkosh didn't start well as we were experiencing weird electrical issues with the Cougar. It was an intermittent issue and we managed to ultimately make it to Tuscaloosa. Today I had some time to fiddle with it and ultimately traced the problem down to a melted fuse holder in the main power feed that I installed to feed the fuel pump and other accessories under the dash.

The issue was somewhat self inflicted as I wired the stereo amps to the same power lead. The fuse in the holder was only 40 amps, but the holder melted before the fuse popped...Lesson learned. I'll get this sorted out and be back on the road soon.

The climate change is welcome. I have lived south of the Mason-Dixon line from 2005 until 2 years ago when I moved to WI. This weather agrees with me!

Karen and I have been together for almost 6 years now, it was time to make it official...had a nice courthouse wedding...

      Congratulations on the wedding!!!
Sounds like she's a keeper, since she's been with you and your addiction for six years and STILL wants to marry you. Rock on Brother.
As far as fuses go.... Yea.... Half their rating is safe. Much more than that and it gets sketchy..

      Married!?!??! MOVED??!?!!

Congrats on both! I lived in Birmingham for about 4 years before moving to New Orleans and meeting the woman that would become my boss/financial advisor/wife.
We did the same style wedding. Show up at the Justice of the Peace office and "sign here and here" DONE!

Thank you everyone for the well wishes. This is my second go round and I'm pretty happy about it. The south definitely agrees with me. I love the weather and I fit right in, since I tend to call the civil war as the war of northern aggression...

I decided to cut that fuse holder apart and see exactly how it is put together. Here is what I found...

The wire definitely got hot, but I suspect it is because the crimp is not properly done.

I cut the other side open and found the same thing.

The wire is crimped at the secondary set of crimps which is only meant to be used for the wire insulation. What junk!!!

My fault for buying cheap crap...

Nothing like going overboard after being stranded for a dumbass 1 dollar fuse holder. I needed up ordering one of these guys from Waytek Wire:

      https://www.waytekwire.com/item/4632...AAAAC-PDM-AMI/

The idea is to use it as my main distribution point for all my high draw items. I'll connect it with a 4 gauge wire directly from the battery. One of the leads will then go to my relay under the dash that gets energized when the ignition key is in the run and crank positions. That relay powers the relay for the fuel pump and also provides power to the Holley Digital Dash. Another lead will feed my stereo amps. A third lead will be left open for a future electronic steering upgrade, which is said to draw as much as 60 amps. The forth will be a spare should I need something in the future.

      Stay tuned...
