I'm a current SCCA member, what SCCA class is this comparable to? Just curious how close or far I am from being legal. BTW, any chance you might be racing at Dominion Raceway in Thornburg, VA. in the next few years?

I honestly have no idea what SCCA class this would cross over with.
Rules are simple, 1975 and older, pwr-wt ratio and wheel widths are about the only major build rules, but cars must be race prepped, safety wise, with log book.
We run with VDCA and they have been looking at Dominion raceway as a possible addition to the schedule.
We're at Road Atlanta July 11-12

First they are no rules, and now you need a cage, power to weight restrictions, and a log book from somewhere(???). Would you kindly post a link to the rules including what type of safety equipment is required, whose licenses you would accept, permissible tires/compounds, fuel type, fuel capacity, how driver changes will be executed, rules on fueling during the 1 hour endure, safety equipment for pit workers, etc.

      Thanks!

You can go the Link below Gordon's name to look at the Rules.

The Big Problem I have with the Rules is the Yearly Dyno Results - I've never seen that rule before!

Looks like my 18x12 wheels are a deal buster.

NASA time trial classes do this.

It's till not clear what the 1 hour endurance format is after reading the rules. I guess it doesn't matter too much to me as I would need to remove 1000# to be competitive.

The term Outlaw Vintage comes from not adhering to period correct Vintage Race rules. Dyno and wheel width rules are there to keep the cars somewhat even, but about everything else is open. Whereas in period correct you're limited to 15" wheels, bias tires, 11" brakes, stock suspensions, 302 engines, etc... we embrace modern technology on the older cars.
Most of us are in the 500-600 hp range with our engines, strong enough to have fun, but not so much as to need constant maintenance.

Of course there are safety and build rules, we can't let street cars out for wheel to wheel racing as these aren't track day or HPDE type events but actual rolling start races, and things can happen at 140+ mph.

The race lengths and enduro rules are controlled by the sanction we run with, which is VDCA. They control the track, we're a somewhat separate race group within.
