I'd probably start by getting a new engine. I'd think the ZZ430 would be too high of a compression ratio to run a decent amount of boost. I'd think the benefits versus costs would make it not worth the effort.

I'm no expert at boost by any stretch, so hopefully someone else chimes in, but that CR seems a bit higher than I'd run with a supercharger.

Just doing a quick Google search:
      http://www.superchevy.com/how-to/eng...superchargers/
"A static compression ratio of about 8:1 is a good compromise for noncomputer-controlled engines running on premium pump fuel. More power is available by reducing compression to 7:1, but the engine won't be as responsive at low rpm when not under boost. Static compression ratios above 9:1 typically limit boost and max power potential."

"The blower can run on pump gas, depending on boost, with engines that have a static compression ratio up to 9.25:1"

Really handy Effective Compression Ratio chart below. With 9.5:1 compression, you wouldn't be able to quite reach 4 psi boost pressure before running into detonation issues.

So it can be done, but at under 4 psi boost... I definitely don't think it would be worth the effort, and wasting a good ZZ430. That's a killer N.A. motor, boosted would be a whole different combination. You'd be barely adding any power, and walking the fine line to catastrophic engine failure if you didn't truly know what you were doing, and keeping an eye on detonation.

Just curious, what number is your ZZ430? Mine was #252.

Ls9 vette runs 10lbs of boost on 9.1-1 compression. I would just run a thicker head gasket either a .051 or .060 and 6-8lbs on pump gas won't be an issue. Get you north of 600hp pretty easy.
