What options are being used

I just logged into the this section to research the exact same thing.

I'm wondering if you can get a good finish with a roll-on/brush-on type of product (if one is available).

Whatever you want. Are you looking for shiny? I've done semi-flat chassis black, red-oxide primer, thinking of maybe going full gloss body color on my Firebird. What do YOU actually want? Everyone is going to have a different route, and preference. Is it going to see a lot of miles? Weather? Mudding?

I'm also curious on this topic, and need to increase my knowledge on it as I've never done it before.
I would like to paint the underbody soon, as I've already completed the suspension, subframe, brakes etc, but I'd like to hold off on painting the body until all firewall mods and interior mods are done, possibly many months apart, is this advisable or is it best to do all painting at the same time?
I want a simple flat black, possibly a lizard skin or U-pol type paint.
I'm all ears to any input on the topic

It's done in POR 15 gloss, that's the way I got it. Looks real nice under there as it shows how clean the pans are. We aren't able to spray that material at the shop in the areas where we installed the mini tubs and quadra link. ( I'm told it's toxic )

SPI black epoxy looks good and has a UV inhibitor.

my advice is roll on bedliner. will sound deaden tough as nails keep rust issues at bay too and its cheap.

Blasted mine, epoxy primer, UPOL gravitex (less texture than bedliner) ready to shoot chassis black urethane this weekend. The gravitex is made to be topcoated.

I used Raptor liner and it turned out awesome. The stuff sprays really nice and sticks to anything!

I've used SEM bedliner. Not too rough and a nice shine to make cleaning easier.

I used SEM on my FJ40 outside in 2001 and have had great luck with it. I didn't like the color so I painted over the SEM before the recoat/volatility time had passed and it has worked great. I did a 1985 SR5 truck the same way and used a clear uv. It looked wet for years until the guy I did it for rolled it on the freeway. SEM is great and comes with application gun.

I bought the raptor liner for mine. Car is blaster and on a rotisserie. Spraying a coat of epoxy primer then the bed liner. Putting the lizard skin sound and heat insulation on the inside. Hoping for durability on the outside and cool and quiet on the inside.

Raptor bedliner is made by U-POL, shot several bedliner with this, my daily driver has a 7 year old bedliner and no fading, chalking.

Just used this product on mine... http://www.ebay.com/itm/391377227236...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Tinted a small batch black and shot the inner fender wells. Sprayed the bed with the remainder tinted body color...I would buy again.

U-pol Raptor liner can be tinted any color you like. Just buy the tintable version and add your base coat color that you desire.
Sprays nice very nice.

You can also use single stage urethane instead of base as I did.

I used Raptor Liner on mine. Like everyone else, worked great and dried nice and hard. The product above from the custom shop looks like private-labeled raptor liner.

"Armour Liner" 2 part polyurethane tinted the same color as the outside of the car. Car was painted from the pinch weld at the bottom of the firewall to the rear of the car between the rockers, inside the front inner fenders, wheel tubs, and the bottom of the fiberglass hood.

I agree that bedliner makes for a clean finished look both top and bottom.
