Suspension Kit Advice - 69 Camaro

Hi All, new to the forum here.

I'm currently re-building my 69 Camaro. I've it had since I was 18 (40 now). Engine is a 427 with a Richmond Gears 5 speed, this was what I added when I was younger but life took over, mortgage, kids etc and there was no room for discretionary spending so my ultimate plans were put on hold, until now. I finally have the funds and shop to work on it.

I need some advice on suspension kits. I was about to order the Hotchkis Stage 2 TVS (2" drop - BB) but a local retailer suggested I look at CPP's kits. Either the stage III or IV.

While I like the idea of getting the disc brake package as part of the kit (for the same price as the Hotchkis) my pessimistic side says there's a catch.

I had never heard of CPP before, though to be honest I have never heard of half of the aftermarket manufacturers until now. Hotchkis I know and have spoken to several people that it their kits, one of which owns a 69 Camaro as well.

I would appreciate feed back as Google has turned up both positive and negative comments about CPP, that their parts are not actually made in the US and their brake kits are sub-par?

I have a ~$5,000 CDN ($3,750.00 US) budget to work with on the suspension, brakes were going to be another item.

PS: Shot of the car in its current state. Stripping the interior and misc parts out in preparation for engine/tranny removal, then its off to the body shop. Hoping to have it on the road next summer.

I have a friend that bought the CPP kit and they had trouble getting the lower controls to fit the stock location. Took alot of persuading to fit.

We have a customer selling most of a ridetech front kit. It has triple adjustable Shockwaves, Upper and Lower A arms, and the sway bar. He will sell with or without the Air system - he has the rear Shockwaves and the compressor and controller as well. Add in a ridetech Tru-Turn kit for the steering and you'd have a nice package. These parts came off of the RideTech Velocity Camaro.

There ya go! A great suspension package at a reduced price. In case you are not aware of the Velocity Camaro, it was built by Ridetech a number of years ago and was one of the early commercially built Pro-Touring cars. It has been featured in numerous magazines and was sold at Barrett-Jackson two or three years ago. It was built with all the state of the art parts at the time. The suspension parts coming off that car would be a Great start for you no doubt at a good price.
